Doh. Then maybe...you could only do it once every IC month. Then everyone would be saying "Whoa, this critical-enhancing buff is amazing! It's such a great thing that I'm going to go spend the artifacts to buy a permanent one!" It would actually be promoting credit-spending.
Abethor2006-09-03 03:09:48
...In which case the percentage it is raised by shouldn't be TOO high...otherwise every bashing area would be bashed out more than it already is..."Oh look! I just killed all of the gorgogs in five mins!"

A buff that makes it impossible to be knocked off your mount? PLEASE or an artifact...but that's off topic
I'd like that! My broom is SO ANNOYING to maintain!

You've sufficiently owned my idea.
Compensate!

Quest Complete: You gained Explorer's Wisdom!
Use this powerful buff to ask Zenuira the Cartographer how much of a given area you've explored! This world-weary dracnari has been over every scrap of land in Lusternia, so she can provide great hints to where you've been.
Zenuira says, "Wow! You've explored the entire Serenwilde Forest!"
Zenuira says, "Hmmm, you've only explored 89% of Bondero Bay."
This only works for one area per quest, and there's a lot of areas, so this wouldn't be too terribly unbalancing.

How about a quest-buff that does something like transmog in Achaea? It saves you from death, resurrects you in a safe area, with some buffs (both positive/negative random options)... and perhaps make the quest only possible once every 3 Lusternian months or something.

I think this would make a good Quest buff, for a relatively difficult quest:
Enhanced Understanding
Makes each lesson worth a little bit more. Maybe 1.333 lessons worth for every one lesson learnt, or maybe 1.25.

Very bad idea. They got rid of myrrh for a reason.

Very bad idea. They got rid of myrrh for a reason.
Myrrh existed to enchance learning for absolutely everyone. It was more or less a requirement if you wanted to learn efficiently. This is just to give a little (should probably be only 1.1, 1.125 or 1.15 now I think about it) temporary bonus to those who have completed a difficult quest. Other end of the spectrum in availability terms.
Shiri2006-09-30 09:34:46
Yes, but it will become as if it were a requirement to learn efficiently. The bar for efficiency gets raised. So now everyone has to know how to do the difficult quest instead of just buying a few simple herbs.
Unknown2006-09-30 09:43:07
Hmm... Point taken. It would further seperate the really really good from the notsogood, I suppose. Bad Thing. *kicks self*

BTW, if no one has caught on, we've been using this thread as a resource for ideas for new skills for bards. Since we haven't finalized the other specializations, feel free to keep submitting ideas!

Sidestep- Whenever someone attempts to lunge, barge, or otherwise physically move you, you step out the way. Slight chance to trip. Drains endurance to keep up.

Soniceyes: Passive ability. Blindness no longer deters you, as your trained ears can now visualize even the slighest sound. But be wary: going deaf will rob you of sight, as well.
It might be good if eating hawthorn would now optimally cure deafness/blindness if specified, too.
