Dear Rhode Island...

I miss living in a state that knows how to plow.
PA was unprepared for actual winter.
I laughed at their pitiful attempts to plow their way out.

Love,
That guy who moved for college.

Mkay New Englanders, I think it's about time we all got together and had a meet!
Anyone interested, post here! When is the best time for you/ where is the best area for you?

Best time for me would be around mid-end September, best area for me is pretty ranged, so, general around MA, NH, are fine, ME is ok, but not too far north... outside of that is kinda tough for me though.

Convince others and I'm in. And I say you make them drag their sorry asses all the way to Boston.

Oh hell no! laugh.gif

I'm in NY State but right on Lake Champlain. I can literally see VT from my window. Boston would be easiest for me but would involve a 9-seater pond-hopper. I loathe those things. And my mom doesn't work for Cape Air anymore so I can't get it for free. sad.gif

Yes, to Boston, everyone!

It will be fun! We can meet somewhere and have a couple of drinks and whatnot. ^-^ Even if only a few can make it, let's get things going, sometime after Sept 20 is good for me since I'm moving soon (still in the area), weekends are best (college student).

Ideas?

I'm a Vermonter! I live right near Burlington.

Maine syrup is nowhere near Vermont quality.

You just make more money off of it pissed.gif

We have a better senator, too. (Leahy, not Sanders)

Seriously, you're comparing it to Maine syrup?

You're supposed to compare to the Quebecois. They are the ones who really feel like they have the edge (they, too, are wrong).

This reminds me-- I have to stalk Xenthos still. evil.gif

I'd have to fenangle my schedule around, but sometime in September works for me! I'm good for somewhere in southern New Hampshire, like Manchester or something, which isn't too too far away from anything in New England. Though, no drinking, cuz I'll only be 19 D=
Kaia2010-08-07 03:23:59
I wish I knew when I could feasibly take my next vacation, but having just been promoted, I am stuck here. I'll vote...Maine meet!

I'm stuck in Boston for the next three years, so I'm good for Boston or anywhere I can get with commuter rail.

Firstly, there is no question that Vermont Syrup is by far the absolute best syrup in the world. This is because each maple tree in Vermont is named, and treated like a member of the family as the delicious syrup is harvested. So Maine, and Canada are clearly confused, and I pity them. That being said, I live about five minutes from Montpelier, so if anyone would like to get together, I'm game.

Kharvik2010-08-10 17:30:21
I live in Plymouth MA at the moment. Fairly close to Boston.

EDIT: There's not even a competition here. Vermont = best syrup hands down.
Nori2010-08-10 21:12:38
I agree Vermont does win, it's simply yummiest.

Now, down to business. Looks like I'll be moving -really- soon, so we'll be able to meet around September or October if that sounds good to everyone? I don't know Boston too well, but, does anyone know a local pub we could meet at? (If everyone who is coming to this gathering is of Drinking age, that is).

So, late September Vs anytime in October (Not Halloween, please, that's my Salem Night), what'll it be?
Casilu2010-08-10 21:22:53
Are you guys really arguing about maple syrup? Weirdos.
Kharvik2010-08-10 21:24:53
the beantown pub on tremont is nice
Kalaneya2010-08-14 13:28:56
My life is essentially planned out for me, so here are some dates that are good on my end:

Sept. 18-19
Oct. 9-10
Oct. 30-31

Those are all weekends. And Tremont is a pretty good bet for pubs or restaurants, though I'm not too familiar with the pub scene myself.
