One thing, though - Glomdoring can seriously stress out/burn you out over time, so consider taking breaks.
silimaur2006-08-28 20:58:07
agreed som things are easier some harder, ive taken breaks already in my short time as a glom
Shayle2006-08-28 21:39:25
If I didn't like Glomdoring so much, the commune itself and its rp, I'd not still be there. It's not easy to play there if you are into doing your own thing, or simply unable to buy into the way Glom does things. It's not the IC things that make me need breaks...it's the OOC crap, and trust me, there is a lot of OOC crap.
A good lot of the people in this game are -mean-, and I don't mean characters, I mean players. Some of you are really mean. And many many of you don't know the difference between RP and real life.
I absolutely despise crowspeak. OOC -and- IC.
I like novices. I don't care if you are an alt novice either, if you're acting like a novice, I'll play with you like you are one. I enjoy rping with people as Queen of the Night. I mean, come on, it's Queen of the Night, what a fabulous role to have. So you're welcome, Silimaur. No idea who you are/were. Don't tell me. I love my guild regardless.
As for Aerenna, if you can't start totally over here...change muds. But don't let yourself fall back into that awful circle you had going on. I was hoping you'd take the time you really need to just get some perspective.

Ooh Ooh, I know! It's because that crow noises are so croaky and clicky, and it's meant to be whats called a "glottal stop". Y'know in English cockney, you say what sounds like bo-ul for bottle and bu-uh for butter? Well that noise, that sudden absence of sound, is the apostrophe. It's a bit like a Sheva, for those that know hebrew (read: Daganev).
Oohhh... glottal stop!! and sheva!!
Blame the linguist in me for this outpouring of emotion.. but crowspeak does sound interesting..
And back on topic: Aerenna, I think you should make a brand new character and surprise us all! Having had a brother IC who suicided and came back with almost exactly the same name.. it just didn't feel right. I do miss Aerenna though

For now, I am still waiting for an admin response. Guido's written that chances for getting my old char back are null, but... well, we'll see. I didn't lose the dream of my character becoming a Vernal one day, not yet.
And to everyone who was posted on not bringing Aerenna back due to horrible personality RP-wise, I've written that I wanted to use this opportunity to change the RP.

Please correct me if I am wrong (and my apologies if my point of view is incorrect), but Glomdoring seems to be a place of RP-elitists who don't really appreciate PKing and prefer annoying semi-rituals,
I hate rituals, and I hate RP for the sake of RP. (like going on a picnic) To me, Rping and playing the Mud should be like a movie or book. I only RP when its "plot related" or is there for charachter development. othewerise it seems like a waste of time to me.

So, by this post do you mean that 1. such things are present in Glomdoring and you hate them, or 2. there aren't such things in Glomdoring and that's why you're staying there?

unfortuneatly, the answer is both
But truth be told, when I needed "stupid rituals" to get some guild stuff happening, I was having a hard time finding anyone who was eager to come up with one with me(read: for me), so number 2 is probabbly the better answer.

Get that man a cookie!
Yes, Crowtongue does appear to be superfluous with the apostrophes, but it is for several good reasons that any good Blacktalon Crowtongue-linguist will now. As said, crow noises are croaky and clicky, and the apostrophes indicate harsh gutteral sounds and clicks. Also, to keep it flowing, they can be used to join phrases and words (which can mean several things dependant on the context).
However as has also been said, Crowtongue is Blacktalon language, so it doesn't matter if everyone else likes it or not. To be honest though its more of a sacred religious language used in our rituals and general RP.
I love Glomdoring, especially the Blacktalon (it just makes me sad on occasions we get few). The RP is amazing, and there is a lot of opportunity. Just remember to take a breather now and then and you'll be fine.

Hope you don't mean me.. cause I'm really nice and really enjoy argueing with Shayle pretty much reflexively whenever she or zenji speaks within a 2 mile radius of each other.

So thats why i dont see you so often! Ok you can still hide in forest but go Alchemist and sell me some refills
And if i would start new alt i would go to Glomdoring also, im quite person and Glomdoring would fit well, i like their fanatism and devotion to their forest.
For long time i was thinking about going there with Ekard, but i have stayed in Celest.
As for you Cuber. I would create new char, some really cool one with wicked RP, somethinkg orginal like Tully. And stick to it. And dont tell anyone that its you.

Okay, so I've got a character concept ready and I should be starting to play in a few days. Of course, I won't betray it to everyone, I like my privacy. My brainstorm brought out some interesting results though, and I'll post two concepts that I like most. They're a bit stereotyped and not 100% serious, but I might want to play them one day - or if someone else does, I'd feel great. Here goes.
1. A hideously deformed Viscanti who, in spite of his physical appearance, is a very kind and noble soul, free of any bias and somewhat pacifistic. He tries to become the Basin's greatest cook, and focuses on creating new exquisite cooking designs. Due to his heritage, he insists on serving his meals in tainted, preferably underground places - like Magnagora Sewers or Lower Shallach.
2. A flamboyant swashbuckler type, who seeks thrill of adventure, good wine, fine company and beautiful ladies to rescue or romance with. Believes that style is more important than success, and you can win a fight if you do it in style, even if you lost the melee.
Which (losing) he'll do a lot because he's an axelord dwarf.

The first one, and make sure he's around 16-19 years of age-ish.

I'm not going to use any of these ideas, since I thought of something else (which I won't share to others! nyah). I just thought I'd present these ones, since I've found them rather cool as concepts.

I like this idea in concept, but I don't think it would go over well in Lusternia. Too much of a person's impression of what you look like, is based on your personality, not your physical description. I know this, only because I tried to be a hairless Tae'dae and nobody ever caught on to that.
