Isn't the method itself bugged?

While under anorexia/gluttony, you should either be incapable of eating or capable of eating.

I was replying to this. It is not a bug, it's supposed to do this. When you have both, you instantly vomit whatever you eat.

No, Estarra made it this way on purpose. It's the "bulimia" affliction when anorexia and gluttony are combined. You will still eat food in your inventory, but you'll immediately throw it back up and take damage. She mentioned it in the New Afflictions thread and said She was surprised no one had noticed it before.

I think bulimia was a creative twist to afflictions and makes sense that it is a combination of anorexia and gluttony!

Once I found out gluttony was not blocked by anorexia as I had thought, I decided it'd be my preferred method to deliver the crotamine poison, via poisoned food. However, much to my dismay, not only do I not get credit, but it ignores the avenger and pk status entirely.

I need to discuss this with Roark, but the more I think about it, the more difficult this is going to be to flag who caused the death from poisoned food. It would probably have to be the cook (who should then be very careful who he gives crotamine food to). It's almost impossible to determine whether you died from food given to you by someone who afflicted you with anorexia/gluttony. Anyway, though I don't see how to do this, I'll ask Roark and see if he has an answer.

I like it, it's pretty funny, I was pretty amused when I first tested it on Ashteru, and was surprised I had never noticed it before. Could do a little more damage though, heheh. It'd be cool if other afflictions fed off of each other and formed more interesting combinations. Perhaps producing entirely new afflictions. Say if you have affliction A and B. Someone gives you affliction C. Once you have A, B, and C, they are all removed (cured), and affliction D is put in it's place, and is worse/harder to cure. Or some similar relationship to Anorexia/Gluttony.

I'd say make it work like masochism. Whoever gave the victim the gluttony affliction that caused the victim to eat the poisoned food in the first place, should get credit and suspect. Just like whoever gave the masochism is responsible when their target kills themselves with masochism. I don't really know the mechanics of it, but it seems like a pretty similar scenario, because masochism originally acted pretty much the same way.

doesn't masochonism give its own damage source? Its prescripted attacks.

Right, but originally, masochism ignored avenger and pk status in a very similar way as feeding some crotamine food by gluttony does now. They changed it so it flagged to where ever the source of the masochism affliction came from. I figure they could do the same with gluttony if it forces you to eat poisoned food that kills you. Just whoever gave the gluttony would also be marked as the source of the crotamine. I mean it doesn't have any trouble now figuring out where crotamine came from when I jab someone with it, nor does it not know where my masochism came from, it's a combination of the two.
