It depends on how the other nations play it.
Paavik and Southgard are touching, so that gives Gaudi some trouble with Glom, and Celest can move from the Isle of Light into Carai Caroo, giving them trouble in Stewartsville.
Edit: Updated my version of the map with a slightly better border for Paavik and Southgard.

Hmm, ok, playing out a full scale scenario, where everyone agrees to stop Gaudi, your right, they won't get all 6. However, I would say that a beginer should get Gaudi as its by far the strongest.
Ok that works

If Gaudi ends up with a total of 6 seats of power right off the bat, it is going to be damn hard for them to convince anyone to play nice with them. I know if I was Glom or Celest, and Gaudi had me that over-powered, I'd be talking with the other person that's in danger rather than Gaudi.
Yes, Gaudi has early expansion.. but diplomatic relations are going to be a

Celest is actually in the same position with Delport as Mag is with Ankrag. It can take it on a later turn without problem, but it can't take it on the first turn. That will definitely make things interesting.

It faces the same problem that russia, and sometimes frances faces in a normal game - over expansion, which would lead to a coalition against them.
I'm gone for a bit, I trust you guys can iron out the map? Everyone who wants to play, submit prefrences. If Dia is playing (Are you?) then we have 6 people, and need one more, if not, we have 5 and need two more.
Excellent!
EDIT: Just realized that Gaudiguch will have the only access to Skarch sea, and Hallifax/Ackleberry will have the only acces to the Basin Ocean. Should be interesting, I want to see how much of an advantage it really gives them in those areas... I would imagine the Basin Ocean would matter a lot, because it touches 2 countries home supply centers. Oh, and should we let people choose what the build for the first year? Or set up a AAF setupt for everyone?

Ok, any other changes before I start cleaning it up?

By the looks of it, difficulty will be:
Gaudiguch - Easiest
Serenwilde
Hallifax
Glomdoring
Ackleberry
Magnagora
Celest - Hardest

oh, and can someone point out spelling errors before I start rasterizing?
Unknown2006-08-30 23:40:30
Just don't forget to increase the border a bit between Paavik and Southgard like I did. On your original map its a little hard to tell if it would be a legal move.
Um.. as for spelling..Tosha, not Toscha.

should I make Balach more obviously able to attack acknor, or should I put shallach bridge between them?
Unknown2006-08-30 23:44:47
yeah, make it a little more obvious that you can get to Acknor from Balach.

Actually, Mag has access to it too, through the Blasted Lands, because its a coast to both the Sea of Despair and the Southern Basin Ocean, so you can move from one to the other.

Ok, I'll be posting two huge maps, One colored one not.
Normally when I play this over the inernet, I use powerpoint presentations, since you can move pieces around.
I would suggest that since we have never game tested this map, we let people decide what they want to build the first turn.

You can also just keep a photoshop image with a seperate layer for each piece, and just move them each round, then save it and re-up it, while still keeping the photoshop image with its seperate layers.

Does everyone here have access to photshop and gimp?
Or should we jsut let everyone do however they find it easiest?

Gotcha covered.
I can and will make a map after each move, to show unit positions and such. That should be enough.
Unknown2006-08-31 04:52:57
er.. everyone do however they find easiest? What do you mean? Only one person should be editing the map, the moderator/GM. Since all the moves happen simultaneously, we should be pming our moves to someone, who will write up a summary of what happens and post the new map after everything plays out.
Taika2006-08-31 05:03:32
I am willing to GM, as I said in the first post, and I would update the map after adjudicating each move. I think that solves the problem.

Just saw this thread, and noticed some mistakes in the map, sorry for any party-poop caused:
It's a Lucidian Observatory
Gaudi's nexus is the Eternal Flame
I'm pretty sure a god said that Ackleberry's tree was the Elder Honeysap.
