Oh and Gwyl, did Munsia do anything worth recording when she was a Moondancer? I don't mean that in an insulting way, but I'm not going to write about every single person.
I was mostly joking. But yes, she did do something very important to the history of the Moondancers: to wit, she died.
More specifically, in her guildhall, at the hands of a few Serenguard.
Even though the people in question all left the guilds soon after, I'd say this is one of the key formative movements in shaping the Moondancer's isolationism and zealotry, as well as the intracommune frictions, all of which still exist in some form today; all because it happened to occur at just the right time in the early days when things were still being figured out.
Funny how it's mostly forgotten now, even though its effects are still plain to see, if you know what you're looking for.

So that explains a few things.

Let's try to keep this thread from descending into snide remarks and jabs at one another. Less and more ! More Moondancer love!
(before I eat them all!)
Moondancer love....? Now I remember why I left in the first place!

I don't know anything about this and I want to change that. Details?

Hardly. I do my flirting in person. Much more effective.

I don't remember that at all, but I suppose that isn't too exciting. It's worth mentioning atleast as a possible reason for our stand apart attitude. Thanks for that, I've jotted it down.
Collating information for all the different sources they're coming in is getting to be pretty tricky, heh. Fun times!

Probably what tipped the scale to banning everything Taint was when I accidentally let Yrael and other Mags teleport into the guildhall while teaching a novice and they tainted it. *blush*

Isnt that what tipped the scales into not having -anyone- in without permission from the leaders as well?

Don't think so. It's not like I let them in on purpose.

Just to update:
I thought I could whip together a quick timeline in one night, but I've decided to jot down details along the way rather than trawling through all the information twice. So, it may take a little while before I get up the first rough draft of people and events.

Since I'm still relatively new to Lusternia, I really appreciate it when someone takes the time to publish what people have done to shape the culture of the Basin. Good luck Quidgyboo, I'm looking forward to reading it.

I've edited the first post to add a few of the personalities I will be writing about. Understand that it's only an initial list from the names that were cropping up during the first few years and is by no means anywhere near complete. I will be adding more constantly and letting you know when the list gets a significant update but feel free to suggest people.
Oh and of particular use would be people like secretaries and when they were appointed, as that is often not recorded in the news.
Time for me to do some uni work (blah, priorities).
Cheers!

Was that when Murphy & Co attacked your guild tutor?
Tsuki2006-08-30 02:27:48
That wasn't what tipped the scale, though it certainly contributed. I remember, vaguely, when that happened and am fairly certainly we already had such anti-Taint things in place ... it just helped encourage our seriousness about it.
And, I've sent you a PM, Laneth.

I sent my message, detailing some of the events that happened before the Viravain thing. Like Munsia's Death, the ritual for the Tower - Lisaera, etc.
Also, I added someone people you didn't give credit too - like our first under-secretary and our first secretary (the latter did a lot for the Guild in its early stages.)

The list has pretty much doubled in size, thanks to Tsuki and Jasper who reminded me of some pretty big names and past secretaries. Not all secretaries did a lot (Laneth being one ) but I'd atleast like to record them as holding their positions.
Diamondais2006-08-30 02:55:46
The list is steadily growing, hope youre getting what you need. Everyone I could think of has been said so, cant be too much help other than saying good luck!
