I assume it will, if they want a consistent look. I assume the original map contest was done for a few reasons, one of which was to see what sort of talent there was amongst the players which the admins could then use at a later date if they chose to standardise the maps. Everyone still go their credit rewards, if your map is moved to the "other maps" section it doesn't mean the efforts are any less appreciated.

It just makes a better impression to have the maps suit a particular style. If they didn't like your map it would never have been put up in the first place, right?

For what it's worth, I really really like the big layout map. I'd love to see that stay and get updated, and don't think it would clash with having a consistent style for all the individual area maps.

I am aware of this, that having an aesthetically uniformed look is more important than "hurting the feelings" of those whose maps go out.

But still, I doubt more than 5-10% of those who even check the map site visit the "others" page. Means all my traces I've left in Lusternia are being forgotten, first Cuber's statue and now (possibly) Aerenna's map. And I even didn't receive a response on her possible ressurection e-mail, like if saying "no" was too much of a trouble. Unless it was filtered off as spam - which I doubt, because other support mails arrived safely.

You're slipping into that negative attitude Aerenna was so well known for. There's no need to think the world is out to get you. Email again if you think they're taking too long to reply *shrug*.

One thing that stopped me from playing Achaea was that theres no update maps. I dont know how to code a mapper. I feel as if it just walking in circles without maps.

I wish I could still make maps for Lusternia I really loathe people resorting to such dirty tricks to maintain a monopoly, especially when it's UNNECESSARY.

Yeah. I used to use it all the time when I was new, but after that the only thing I might have needed a map for was part of Serenwilde and the new areas, which it didn't have!

Oh, and if you must shunt some of the work off, at least keep it in an archive page. Or maybe have different pages for different artists...

He's not really doing much mapping, though, is he? Ethereal is a handful of rooms long. It shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to be able to wander around, and with starting lessons, you can get Planar well above the point needed to wander in Ethereal. The character in question should've suicided already.

If Exarius still hasn't posted in this thread with an explanation by this evening, then it'll be REALLY suspicious. Hard to get more suspicious than it already is, but you know what I mean.

I was referring to when he set me up and then framed me for plagerism, with a victory email that said, "Spoken consent is not transfer of copyright, now give me the credit for everything you did or my kids will starve."

Not to mention his "I'm an OOC character, I don't need to listen to you" attitude, followed by the audacity to complain about people's reaction to this.

As I said before, he feely admits that he hates people who hate him and will do anything he can to ruin their fun and make them feel miserable. If that's his choice, that's his choice, but turnabout is fair play in my book. I could care less if someone hated me, but if they act upon that hatred, then I will respond in kind, as I am doing here and now.

In terms of special powers to map, I disagree with that. Everything on my Multiplanar map was mapped by myself as a standard high elf, and that is exactly why I still haven't managed to put tosha sprit plane on there or the catacombs. I would love to have a character available to go anywhere without fear of garshades etc, but that takes away the whole point of exploration mapping etc in my opinion. I mapped Astral at level 20 by using broom/burrow and a monty python approach. (*spot monster* RUN AWAY!!!)

In terms of creating characters to map areas controlled by other organisations.. well my opinion is it is ok as long as the character is played correctly and not for the sole purpose of mapping. (If thats the background purpose.. ok) I have considered that for a couple of guildhalls, but if I do then I will play that character as a proper newbie of that guild.

As for my map updates, I've never had any kind of agreement with Estarra, I just map for the fun of mapping, submit it and hope it is still up to the standard to be put on the web site. Which so far it has been If someone produces a competing and better map I would expect to be replaced as basin mapper

Heck if it wasn't for lusternia launching, I was 1/3 the way through a complete map of Achaea to compete with Shazara's.
