Oooh oooh! That should have been nice, since never Achaea update their map.

As for my map updates, I've never had any kind of agreement with Estarra, I just map for the fun of mapping, submit it and hope it is still up to the standard to be put on the web site. Which so far it has been If someone produces a competing and better map I would expect to be replaced as basin mapper
Though the other maps are pretty and shiny and good for PR, your map is the only one I ever use. It's readable, clear, well layed out, conformed obviously to the entrances/exits, is of a perfect size in my eyes, and it's useful. I keep it open at all times for when I need to speed somewhere, especially when in an arena.
Thank you, Caffery, for all the help your map has given me over the years If you ever want to explore the aetherbubbles, just bug Shorlen - it's not entirely OOC knowledge, since a lot of the Wilde knows about his pet aetherturtle

Thanks for the +3 ego boost, I shall use Influence to see if I can get a payrise out of my boss
Thanks for the offer on the aetherbubbles but I have my own ship, the Felix Alexander. Can outrun pretty much everything, at least when he listens to me. He has a HHGTTG Marvin style personality
I sent in a map update on sunday with :
Snow Valley and Igasho caves.
Arthar'rt Observatory and Caves.
Presido of the Damned. (not shallamurine yet)
Magnagora - Silent Cathedral and Bonehoard.
Aetherway Entrances on Astral, Ethereal, Cosmic, Elemental, Prime.
Aether Bubbles :
Tree of Trees. (gone already?)
Dramube Triangle
Frosticia
Facility
Crumkindivia
Cankermore

Quoted for truth. I do the same thing, Caffrey's map is open whenever I go somewhere other then serenwilde/ethereal, and helps me out a lot.

Yep, though it might be brought back again when the Song quest is redone, if it is going to be redone?

It is, Estarra made the evil bat-wing smilie in regaurds to that.. so.. well whatever happens with it, it will be interesting.

If Exarius still hasn't posted in this thread with an explanation by this evening, then it'll be REALLY suspicious. Hard to get more suspicious than it already is, but you know what I mean.
Has anyone demanding an answer on this thread made sure he's aware it exists?
Just wondering.
It is a holiday weekend here in America.

P.S. Yes, I'll make sure he knows.

I agree that it would be nice if things were arranged where everyone's talents got a chance to shine. We really should have a more even distribution among the players, where full representation is allowed to a wide variety of styles and philosophies, and neither petty bias nor dirty tricks are allowed to sideline anyone.
But enough about city, commune, and guild politics.
I'm a professional artist. I happen to be a professional artist who plays Lusternia, and doesn't mind doing work here and there for credits instead of cash because of it. No one screamed bloody murder (that I can recall) when Estarra hired a professional artist to do the racial portraits.
It is not a crime that I'm good at what I do. Nor is it crime to get compensated for my time (far less compensation, I might add, than if I charged my usual hourly rate and converted that back into credits). It's not a crime that Estarra wants a coherent, professional look for the web site, and its not a personal insult to anyone that I'm the one doing it, anymore than its a personal insult to the other applicants that only one gets hired for any other given job.
I will address the issues about the alt. Later. But right now, it's a holiday, and my family wants me.
Oh, and Caffrey, I'm never replacing the whole realms map. Your style's definitely better for it than mine.

Anyone remember who had bets down on him responding with attacks on the political leadership IG? I should probably start handing out the winnings.

Hmmmm, didn't see your one. Mine is in the bottom right hand corner of my map on the main maps page. Your one looks good and although you don't specify which are up/down, in/out actually I've just noticed yours is correct and mine has an error I'm pretty sure from memory that my purple 4 should be where your C is. I think I must have moved it up a square by mistake when I was fiddling with the layout in PSP8. I'll go back and check that, but I think yours is right. (I will correct it in next update.) Apart from that we agree on the other exits
Shorlen2006-09-03 00:17:41
Caffery, you are missing the docks on the Etherwilde and the Etherglom.
Exarius2006-09-03 00:58:53
All right. The alt.
First of all, I realize that what I have to say about it won't make much of an impact one way or another, because judging by the line-up of people who've been complaining, this isn't even about the alt. This about you feeling threatened by me in general, because I do things my own way, not yours.
This is hardly the first mapping alt I've created. Magnagora, Glomdoring, Angkrag, and the newbie areas I remember distinctly mapping with alts. I created another to go back into the Wilde and try to find an expert Tracker to help with another project I'd been assigned by the admins.
There may have been other such "utility" characters I created over the last two years. I honestly don't remember. They do their job. They interact as little as possible. I leave them to get deleted from inactivity. No muss, no fuss, no asking the admins to take time out to create some sort of "special priviliges" character.
Well, no fuss until now, when I try to have the consideration of telling Shayle the truth of what's going on instead of wasting time for both of us. Then it turns into this huge scandal because she feels she has proprietary rights to 1/12th of Lusternia, and has such a need to micromanage it that she can't even just ignore me for a little while I'm failing to interact with anyone.
Now those of you with espionage/conpiracy theories: think.
* I mapped Glomdoring already. I know what's there.
* The alt hasn't learned ANY skills or abilities Exarius hasn't had for the last fifty game years.
* The only interactions he's having with anyone is to tell them not to bother with him.
* Exarius has never even performed a quest detrimental to any of the factions, much less attacked anyone. I'm sure as heck not scouting for weaknesses to exploit in your defenses.
* Exarius is a rogue with no political ties, who actually turned down a place in Celest to keep from getting swept back into the madhouse of politics. I'm sure as heck not scouting for weaknesses for anyone else to exploit.
What does that leave? A masterful plan to hang around waiting for you (knowing who I am) to unblock me for drawing power so I can go on a power drawing spree?
So I overlooked the fact that ethereal travel is cheaper through Planar than through Nature. So I didn't maximize my efficiency, and spent a little extra time getting lessons in Newton, and while I'm there, grabbing descriptions that real novices had been too busy to let me pay them to get. So I got all the way up to *gasp* 8th level!
And?
You're all so so fond of accusing me of doing nothing to contribute to Lusternia. Now I let you know about one of the many things I normally do without drawing attention to myself, and you go ballistic?
As so many of you keep reminding me when it's convenient for making your own point: This is just a game, people. Chill.

As I put on the explanation part of the artisanal entry, I took the philophical stance that in/out/up/down are illusions created by the mind of the viewer because of the gyroscopic nature of the Faciltity.
Glad the comparison helped you fine-tune yours. I hate I spot a mistake on any project after I've turned it in.
