Except that brooms work from trees and mounts don't. Always found that interesting also.
Wings don't work from trees either. Not even faeling wings.
The branches are too entan--I'M 2 FEET TALL AND LIVE IN A FOREST! I think know how to get out of a couple of twigs.

The ability to inscribe a weapon/armour in forging...

BTW, if no one has caught on, we've been using this thread as a resource for ideas for new skills for bards. Since we haven't finalized the other specializations, feel free to keep submitting ideas!

How about an ability to cast ranged illusions?

This would own so hard. Yes please. And make them colorable too.

Shamarah and I agreed. The end is nigh.

I'm not sure if anybody has added Music to the Scrying Pool yet, so unsure of the skills I post these.
Harmonize: Temporarly powers up nearby Bards who sing the same songs as you.
Truesound (or related name): Sing/Play better for high damage.

Transmutation: turns a group of up to 20 commodities randomly (or perhaps not randomly? probably best to have some limitation so people don't just turn stuff like grain into steel though) into something else, usable once per IC month.

Illustration - an ability in Glamours that allows coloured illusions that are complete undetectable by arts skill, but take a 8-10 second balance. The point is for them to be used when putting on performances to make them more believable, but not for them to be used in combat.

Very cool. For even less combat viability, prefix it with something easy to trigger, like hocus pocus, but without the delay.

For Wildarrane:
Cloaks, require lyrics to activate, and only one can be active at a time.
Wildecloak - Surround yourself with the songs of the animals, giving you the appearance of a forest creature. If you are struck in any way, the song will fade. (Appear like a denizen animal of your choice, but still show up on scries and such as being in that room. When the animal is hit with any bashing attack, you are hurt, revealed and thrown off balance. Statues, totems, and guards can still strike you and all cause you to lose your cloak.)
Windcloak - Cloak yourself in the forest breeze, allowing you to move with the grace of the wind. (Shroud (movements only, if that's possible? It was in Achaea), can move +2 rooms per second without getting a "don't be hasty!" message)
Mooncloak - Cloak yourself in wisps of the moonsong, fortifying your body and mind. (Grants level 1 health regen and level 2 mana regen)
Treecloak - Cloak yourself in the songs of the trees, enticing them to keep you clutched tightly in their grasp. (Always clung without having to cling, can fly out of the trees if you can fly)
(The point of the cloaks would be to provide several travel/utility skills that the bard can choose between)

DuskRequiem - A moving epic to honour death and rebirth.
(Room effect. Causes undead denizens to listen temporarily to influence by anyone, causes souls in the room to experience +3 mana/ego regen, and maybe has a chance to wear away deathmarkers in the location over long periods of time.)
SilverdewSong - A tinkling melody that hearkens to renewed vigour and life.
(Room effect. Causes all regenerations to tick twice as fast.)
TwilightRefrain - A haunting composition that is soothing yet still unsettling.
(Room effect, costs power. All names are removed from targetted actions, replaced by 'A shadowy figure'. All targetted actions are also delayed by three seconds.)

For Necroscream:
Next-to-last Requiem - Corpses in the room are raised into undead, similar to Necromancy raise dead. Crucified and fossilized corpses rise as stronger types of undead. Can only be done in Tainted ground.
Twisted Hymn - For the duration of the song, effects which can only be cast in Tainted soil may be cast normally, by anyone in the room.
Voice of the Taint - The bard and his allies gain the ability to influence undead for as long as the bard is in the room. Viscanti in the room gain a charisma boost.

Wildarrane:
Maiden's lure - Maidens have a vastly decreased chance to skip away.
Mother's lullaby - Mothers heal ego as well as health.
Crone's lament - Crones cause two afflictions instead of one.
Looking at the Shadowbeat skills really disappoints me, I think. As far as I can tell, they are nearly all just room effects, and there are very few of them compared to other classes primary skillsets. I was hoping for more diversity, more different types of skills rather than just a single skill type.

Shadowbeat seems to have a skill that increases the usefulness and effectiveness of venoms (VenomDrops), and thus fetishes in addition to allied warriors.
Wildarrane should therefore have a skill that increases the usefulness of smudges in addition to another effect.
Perhaps StillWind, a song that pervents
Gust from working? I'm not sure how much Gust really hinders smudges though.
Maybe StormyBeat, a song that acts like carcer for enemies?
Or FlashfireWaltz, a song that makes smudges instant effects?

Instant smudges are crazy. Desert will decimate groups, especially if they are taking damage whenever they spend mana (i.e. clot).

Yes, but then again, tarot is going to be crazy to :-p

Venomdrops cuts shrugging by 2/3rds, raising the affliction rate of fetishes from 66% to 90% - I'm talking about a similar boost to smudges

Doortravel. Put a rune on one door and then a matching rune on another door. Then, when activated, the rune temporarilly changes where the doorway goes. Must be on the same plane.
Manse Anchor...An artifact or ability that allows one to tesseract back to one's manse. Must be on prime or ethereal to work, must be docked on prime aetherdock.
