Have you ever tried to actually read what's going on without any color to anything? A system would probably save your ass, but it would be annoying as hell otherwise.

Also, that still requires you to drop your title and only pick messages that normally begin with your name, if you're going to fool anyone.

For Celest bards...

TwilightHymnal- ads someting like HONOUR to all allys in the room, and can be used on top of HONOUR

For any bards...

PlanarRhapsody- while being sung, any number of people can touch a catcombs card, while the map is up, and the map will not vanish
OR
- when being sung, it allows the an allied guardian or mage to send other people to the plane as they can travel...so like if someone was seing it in a room with me, I could do..
TRANSVERSE ESTARRA COSMIC and it would beam You right to cosmic, asif you were a Celestine...

So if they're enemied to Celestia, you could transport them to enemy territory with aggressive creatures and guards, if they pop at the nexus?

It would be neat for illusions to have an affliction that turns someone's ANSI color off. It won't affect systems with client side highlights and such, but it'll throw a lot of people totally off, and would be neat and unique.

Along the same lines, maybe an illusion to set their linewrap to 40 characters. That actually would screw with systems. evil.gif

First Idea: That sounds good. ColourBlindness FTW!

Second idea:...Is almost completely OOC.
Simimi2006-10-24 13:57:08
NO Slyphas, if they were enemied to Celestia they would also be enemied to Celest, and thusly could not be at The Pool, I meant it as a helping skill, as lots of people have trouble getting up sometimes, since sometimes there may not be enough trained aquas or celestines to give lifts, or maybe we are all busy...

love,mimi

And why would we need to do that when we can get you to guards at the pool in a lot easier ways?
Shiri2006-10-24 14:25:45
I think Sylphas was assuming you would be able to do the celestia-beaming from anywhere, because there doesn't seem to be any point to making a skill that can be imitated by doing FOLLOW SHAMARAH (or whoever) for a few seconds.
Sylphas2006-10-24 14:32:38
How is that any more OOC than anything else you can do with Illusions? The entire point of the skill is to screw with systems. And you can explain it in any number of different ways. We can force you to see the world the way we want you to, which can have any number of effects.

A temporary affliction that inserts into words/replaces letters with * would be neat too, represent some kind of mental static, or shimmery mirage stuff.

IC, It's perfectly reasonable to be able to use an illusion to make it seem as if ropes are wrapping around someone, or they have just hit you with a really quite large sword. How could yoiu adequately explain adding twice the normal amount of linebreaks IC?

And the st*at** affliction was already suggested by Shorlen in the afflictions thread.

Well, Colorblindness wouldn't work for losing ASCII either, since your character doesn't actually see says and tells in a different color, can't see a prompt, etc, etc.

The only way to really represent making your character see the world in skewed way is to make YOU see the world in a skewed way.

A.) It's called ANSI. B.) Thank you for making my point. Find a name that works IC then.

Bah, I knew that. Was tired. sad.gif

Idea: MASQUERADE, in Dramatics, makes your name disappear:

A human man wearing a vivid red and black mask is here.

A faeling woman wearing a sombre black butterfly mask is here.

Declaring, or performing an act of aggression on someone, would drop the masquerade. It will also not fool people with high enough Discernment who LOOK at you.

Heh, idea stolen from Imperian tongue.gif A fun skill though.
Verithrax2006-11-01 01:13:44
It's used for combat in Imp, though. But I wanted it for argh pee, hence why put it into Dramatics, use tailor-made masks and not let you do it during combat.
Callus2006-11-12 14:12:11
I know this is really overpowering, but wouldn't it be nice (for Telepaths) to have a skill in Telepathy called... say... EgoTransfer, or something? Basically, if you're in a Mindlink and have HiveMind, you can sacrifice -your- Ego increase and spread it among the other members.

Naturally, that would mean that you could superpower one member of the mindlink. cool.gif
Verithrax2006-11-12 15:30:22
That's combat, not utility, and utterly broken.
