As I've said in other threads, every room in Celestia is part of Celestia. Thus any movement (such as from the sands of Celestia to the Pool of Stars) is a movement from Celestia -> Celestia, which was NEVER EVER illegal. Furthermore, there is no variation on experience loss if you die in one or the other.

Oh. I need to start headbutting, summoning, and pathtwisting people into the totem in the etherwilde then. We didn't before because we were under the impression that it was illegal.

It never was illegal. And it has been done to many people including myself. I believe it was Flacarealah that knocked me into it.

Except that if you die at the pool of stars you have city conglute, but if you die one room out of it you only have planar conglute.

So I'm not sure how you can say its exactly the same.

It was added at one point to give the defending team on cosmic/elemental an advantage in the 1-room with the Pool/Megalith.
Daganev2006-09-05 21:48:07
Ummm.. no.

You can place gaurds at the pool because it is technially celest.

We know this becaause of the change to etherglom and etherseren.

they couldn't remove guards but keep totems, or anything like that because its eitehr part of the commune/city or it isn't.

Are you quite certain about that? Judging by our knowledge from the Ethereal changes, I would suspect that rooms with guards are still enemy territory.

I'd also point out there IS a variation on experience loss regardless - in one you will conglutinate, in the other you might not.

I would also like to mention that all pulling summoning skills have been removed except for those retained by cities (beckon, currents, whirlpool). Pathtwist in a sense is similar, but given its limitations will almost never be useable.

There's seize.. and..barge(I think that's the one Knight's have) and hoist. Two of those change elevation, but still.

Edit: Oh, and Rad, but that's random.

Seize requires entering their location, as does hoist. (I think)

Rad as you said is random.

Barge... surely you can't run into a room and barge someone back the same way you came from?
Shamarah2006-09-05 23:38:46
I'm pretty sure there's an increased exp loss for dying at the Serenwilde nexus, dunno about the Celest one.

Rad is better than you give it credit for, BTW.

Rad is awesome! It can destroy groups with the greatest of ease.

Seize requires you enter the room, yes, but in Ethereal, you're in a higher elevation. A team can easily get a specific target into the nexus room if they really want to. And given that most city people don't have climb, so have to rely on hexegram, you've got a decent chance of getting out alive if you're prepared.

Rad is random, but its an incredible skill. Back when Visaeris first got archways in and was spending hours just jumping in and out at random, an infused rad on the other side did an incredible job of throwing him into a group of us without much wait. Also, double-slinging rads causes double movement, which is another nice tactic should you need to break up a group before an attack.

And as for barge, the answer is yes. At least it used to be. Need to ask a warrior to see if it was ever changed.

Edit: Oh, and again, with hoist you have to be up in the air in the room, but still.

You all have no idea how many times I contemplated switching to runes JUST for rad.

It honestly IS that awesome.

Runes still sucks though, so nevermind tongue.gif

"Relying on hexagram" is hardly a disadvantage.

QFT.

Also, Shiri's right, Hexagram is pretty badass, and you can still get Climb. We get Climb but can never learn Hexagram.

Mitch has said that the only reason he sticks with Runes is to whore rad. tongue.gif

It is called rabbit now thanks to Ialie, and Mitch rabbits anything he can, remember tongue.gif
Sylphas2006-09-06 15:27:02
We really need to work on the rabbiting. It hasn't quite stuck the way it should. We need more Lusternia jargon!
Shamarah2006-09-06 23:00:53
I actually did this:

#SUB {whore} {rabbit}
Sylphas2006-09-06 23:25:03
Is this a vocabulary-wide change, or just a substitution for that specific use of whore? If I'm talking about a harlot working a corner in Celest, should I refer to her as a rabbit, or use whore?
