Ethelon made a system that works. It does things you wouldnt even think about and even has some nifty stuff built in. Not to mention as he said it has its own help files while in game and the targetq script will now allow you to handle group combat far easier than before.. since it even tracks the targets automatically.

I recommend it to those who dont have a system and those who have used Murphys. Its only 25 credits compared to.. 100 for system or 50 for the updating? Its far cheaper but far better.

Not to mention he is often tweaking it and is open to suggestion as well as being here.

So get the system! I guarantee you will be glad you did!

Don't forget to register those copies of MUSHclient, while you're at it. I know many people just live with the nag screen and consider MUSHclient to be freeware, but it really isn't. If you don't support the client, you won't have one to run a system on. (Of course, you could always stick with the last version he released, but it would gradually start falling behind the curve.)

I personally loved the speed of MUSHclient, but I missed the GUI and mapper I had in zMUD. I also found it a royal pain to debug scripts in MUSHclient because of the error dialog still being modal (I asked Nick if he could make it less intrusive, maybe modeless) and reloading of plugins being a royal pain.

I've just switched to ubuntu and, as expected, I'm having trouble getting zMud working through Wine. If I can't get that going, I'll give MUSH a try and if that works I will probably purchase your system.

MUSH works through Wine but the COM objects needed to run VBscript scripts don't, so unless Ethelon has switched to Lua, don't bother.

Just like to vouch for the fact that you can run vbscript under wine too. I run this at home under Ubuntu.
You just need to copy in the relevant vbscript dll (can't remember the name at the moment).

Hey, all you Zmud users should switch to Mushclient now and buy my system!

Hmm... this looks tempting.

I'm not really good in programming though so what if I ask for a personal script to be made? How much will it cost? Because I wanted an auto-influence whenever you start influencing someone (not when you see someone...) unless it's not allowed in here. unsure.gif
Okin2006-11-12 15:44:33
Auto-influence scripts, like auto-bashing scripts, are allowed as long as you must enter commands to move and to begin killing/influencing each mobile (as is my understanding).
Gandal2006-11-12 21:53:31
The forging script looks drool.gif
Ethelon2006-11-13 01:53:27
I forged a 41/220/200 rapier two nights ago with my script...was nice.

I do custom Scripts for about 10 credits. The Influence one wouldn't be to hard. I have an old one I could re-write and update. It would check infohere and go down the list of mobiles and influence them. Was useful with guards mainly since they don't move. I could make one that followed mobs when they moved and such, but that may not be legal.
Murphy2006-11-13 05:51:47
220 precision rapier?! I thought they capped forging preciions to be lower than that.
Gandal2006-11-13 06:01:09
There should be a tally for how many times precision is misspelled... dry.gif
Ethelon2006-11-13 13:25:24
Th highest I've seen since the caps has been 204 on a rapier. I thought the cap was 205

I don't know about beginning to kill each mobile actually... think just 1 part of the chain has to be manuel so you can''t fry eggs while your char bashes

All New Pureblade and Axelord Afflictions have been added. Other Mushclient users who don't have the system, feel free to ask me IG and I'll give you the messages if needed also.

gonna buy some credits as a reward for finishing school... looking at this system. Does it come with a herb harvesting script? (The free one kinda sucks if you lag at all) Does it use healing scrolls? If the answer to either of these are "no," is it possible they could be included/purchased in the future?
EDIT: it's 5:30AM... if this was all laready answerd just ignore me
strryx2006-12-01 11:33:53
Hey it seems to have the herb harvesting script although I haven't used it yet and couldn't tell you if it's different from the free one.

But I can tell you it does specifically include Healing Scrolls, you choose whether you have them and whether you want to use them automatically or not.
Ethelon2006-12-04 17:20:39
I'm actually working out a new Harvesting Script and hope to have it finished soon. I'm not a harvester myself so not sure what it is harvesters want/need.
Shaeden2006-12-05 19:54:05
I'd want something that checks two variable- the herb you are harvesting and the amount you want to be remaining in the room. Then on a balance check, it checks PLANTS and if the herb you want it greater the the variable it sends HARVEST . The one working off two second wait is good, but if you have .3 secs of lag if sends it before you regain balance. /rant. Not sure it's that's possible or not.

It's possible because it's been done.

I finished a Harvest Script last night. When you type Plants, it will note the plants in the room and then harvest them down to 5 (default), this can changed if you wish to change the 5. It stores the herbs after picking them and it works off the recovery and not off a timer. So it's pretty much what you are looking for.
I'm also adding a targetted alias so you can choose particular herbs to pick and how many of them.

This script should be finished testing by the end of the week, but if anyone has suggestions on anything else it should include, feel free to let me know.
