New Artifact: Rune of preservation - 5cr
You can put this rune on an unenchanted figurine. It will now never decay, but can never be enchanted.
This makes it so that you can have a collection!
New artisan skill: Figurine cabinet
Holds figurines, woo.
Adjustment to figurine cost:
One powerstone, one gold, one marble, should make two figurines. The reason is that right now, figurines don't get used, plain and simple. It's hard to find powerstones, and they cost something like 3000 gold to make. Figurines get destroyed pretty quickly. They need to be cheaper if they're ever to be used, period.
Documentation update:
Yeah, read this, from the minimeal ab file:
"You must be in a proper kitchen to cook miniature meals. It will take 1 grain and 1 fruit."
Really tells us what it does, huh? The ab files for miniature-related skills need redone.
Why let the figurine system go to waste?

I utterly agree.
Although figurines should be kept in shelves or reliquaries, not cabinets.

Well, either or, you know. I'd keep mine behind glass, with a lock.
Verithrax2006-09-05 00:19:59
That's what a reliquary is.

I absolutely agree! I love the figurines, and I've been trying to get everyone I know to get one and battle, and make them stronger. But they are hard to come by.

I've been selling them lately, but it's hard to keep the prices down.

True, not to mention that in its present state, you will either just keep it till it decays, or spend absurd amounts of time finding a willing duel and fight till either one crumbles into dust. Either way, the figurine's fate is pretty sad.
I'd gladly spend 5cr for minuatures of my guildmates or divines. If this gets implemented, I'd have to run to Glom, Celest, and Mag to make figurines of every npcs there.

Another possible idea is something that makes figurines not decay while you're waiting around for another spar. The way they get destroyed right now is losing months on them, which is fine, but perhaps we need a way to make them not lose months normally? I think I'm one of the few people that has a 300+ month figurine, most are closer to 30.

I think the key to not letting the figurine system go to waste is to either introduce some measure of skill to the battles (its just luck at the moment), or make high level figurines give some RP or utility benefit to the owner (so that you might be willing to trudge through a number of battles just to get the reward).

The only sure fire way to actualy level up with speed is to buy like 10 and crumble them because finding fights is near imposible
