Remember Remember, The Eleventh of September The Nine Eleven Terriost Act and Plot, I See of No Reason Why the Twin Towers Should Ever Be Forgot.

Every one, today, or yesterday (Different time zones) was the anniversary of the Twin Towers attack. I would like if you could every one to maybe take a moment of silence while you read this as of honor of those whom died in the 9/11 terrorist attack against America. Many people died, and maybe some of your relatives, I know I lost my uncle in that attack, so try and remember the eleventh of September.

Thank you.

You know what? I'm not going to be an ass, but bear in mind that I'm one of those who believe some things that you won't like. I'm sorry your uncle died in that attack, tho.

I'll reserve my comment for another time
Unknown2006-09-12 08:04:18
All comments welcome, I know some people disagree with what I say, but that is because they have valid points and I will agree with any thing if it is valid enough. so please. speak your mind.
Gelo2006-09-12 08:08:24
I sympathise. It's a sad day for many people and Im sorry for your loss.

But um... this should be in the Real World forums tho.
Unknown2006-09-12 08:18:28
Well, I've believed that the 9/11 was planned in the US. There are some people that claim that the 9/11 was a scam to get lots of money out of the Twin towers(that were obsolete and the owners wanted to dismantle them completly). While, I feel sorry for the victims, I really dislike some people that use this event as a way to strenghten their political, religious and even racial beliefs.

The 9/11 scam is creepy but the pieces there fit together incredibly good. Just for the fact alone that the owner of the Towers just bought them 6 months before 9/11 with an insurance policy for terrorist attacks of 7 billion dollards that only costed him 130 million or so. Not to forget many things such as the people involved and so on.
Unknown2006-09-12 08:20:13
wow... well... damn...
Unknown2006-09-12 08:48:17
I think this day was a terrible blow to America, and it will be remembered with great sorrow by the families of those innocent victims for many years to come. Obviously the Two Towers Attack still moves us because of it's horror and significance in the passing of an era of perception, and I can only offer those personally affected my deepest condolences.

Edit: Hmm, missed the bit about your own uncle, I'm very sorry to hear that. I thought this was a generic "remember the day" thread.

There are rumors like that, who knows that the leaders we all know are under control by something far more sinister behind, they are like puppets who are just being told what they asked to. And probably Orti is right, who knows that someone there in USA paid these 'terrorists' just for the money.

You can't really trust anyone anymore nowadays, you really have to go on with or without them.

And for you Ethen, sorry to hear the loss of your uncle sad.gif
Anarias2006-09-12 09:02:11
I would have bought good terrorist insurance too if I had just purchased the Towers considering they were the targets of previous terrorist attacks.
Narses2006-09-12 10:16:37
For every event in the course of history you have "conspirecy theories" be it area 51, landing of aliens, the arrivel to the moon or that we, the jews, "staged" the holocaust in order to get a favourable world-support.

I suggest you take the time to think long and hard in regards to the implications of the things you say.

God be with the fallen, may their families be able to move on.
Vesar2006-09-12 11:53:01
This strikes a cord with me, for many reasons, one of which is that the place I was at the time was supposedly the next target on the "terrorist hitlist" the government had.

The memory of 9/11 is what keeps me going, really. It is the reason I fight. Here's another humorous, yet deadly serious letter I came upon (and most have already seen it). For those that don't know, I'm a naval aviator.

QUOTE

Dear Terrorists,

I am a Navy Aviator. I was born and raised in a small town in New England. I
come from a family of five. I was raised in a middle class home and taught my
values by my mother and father.

My dad worked a series of jobs in finance and my mom took care of us kids. We
were not an overly religious family but attended church most Sundays. It was
a nice small Episcopal Church.

I have a brother and
Sister and I am the youngest in my family. I was the first in many
generations to attend college.

I have flown Naval aircraft for 16 years. For me the flying was never a
lifelong dream or a "calling," it just happened. I needed a job and I liked the
challenge. I continue to do it today because I feel it is important to give back
to a nation which has given so much to me. I do it because, although I will
never be rich, my family will be comfortable. I do it because many of my friends
have left for the airlines and someone has to do it.

My government has spent millions to train me to fly these multi-million
dollar aircraft. I make about 70,000 dollars a year and after 20 years will be
offered a pension. I like baseball but think the players make too much money. I am
in awe of firemen and policemen and what they do each day for my community,
and like teachers, they just don't get paid enough.

I respect my elders and always use sir or ma'am when addressing a stranger.
I'm not sure about kids these days but I think that's normal for every
generation.

I tell you all this because when I come for you, I want you to know me. I
won't be hiding behind a woman or a child. I won't be disguised or pretending to
be something I am not.

I will be in a U.S. Issue flight suit. I will be wearing standard US issue
flight gear, and I will be flying a Navy aircraft clearly marked as a US
warplane.

I wish we could meet up close in a small room where I could wrap my hands
around your throat and slowly squeeze the life out of you, but unfortunately,

You're hiding in a hole in the ground,

So we will have to do this a different way.

I want you to know also that I am very good at what I do. I can put a 2,000
lb weapon through a window from 10,000 feet up. I generally only fly at night,
so you may want to start sleeping during the day. I am not eager to die for my
country but I am willing to sacrifice my life to protect it from animals like
you.

I will do everything in my power to ensure no civilians are hurt as I take
aim at you.

My countrymen are a forgiving bunch. Many are already forgetting what you did
on Sept 11th.

But I will not forget!!
I am coming. I hope you know me a little bit better, see you soon...sleep
tight.
Signed

A U.S. Navy Pilot

Our Soldiers are one

Of our greatest assets!

God Bless

What an awful sentiment. Is this truly what the world is coming to?

Evil breeding more evil in a never-ending cycle of revenge and inhumanity.

If that is the legacy of the world trade center, it is a very poor memorial.

Shiri2006-09-12 12:33:06
I'm curious as to what's supposed to be humorous about that letter. I'm not saying it particularly disgusts me or anything, I just don't get it.
Unknown2006-09-12 13:04:32
I'm with Elryn really, it just makes me sad to see the world resorting to who can hit who the hardest. It's like a game of slaps we used to play in highschool; you'd hit eachothers hands as hard as you could until one of you couldn't take it anymore, but you both ended up with sore hands.
Xavius2006-09-12 14:22:57
I hate to echo American conservatives, but this might be an appropriate time.

Since World War I, Europe has taken a blanket anti-war stance. It's understandable, even if short-sighted. WWI was fought for basically no reason at all, killed an extreme number of people, and is the direct cause of WWII and the Holocaust, and the indirect cause most of our current mess in the Middle East. That's not exactly a great legacy to the former European war machine.

The sad consequence of this all is that it leaves Europe open for abuse with nothing but the UN to rely on for international mediation (and if anyone can think of anything that was better accomplished under Kofi Annan than through American military and relief organizations, speak up). European cultural pioneers came up with ideas like "All cultures are created equal," while ignoring that the rate of mortality in Iraq during war is lower than it was under Saddam Hussein. Europeans criticize Israel for policies that inspire Lebanese to fire rockets into Israel, and further criticize Israel for daring to enforce peace on mutually beneficial terms, simply because Israel is more like us, and it's easier to hold Israel to a high standard. It's not a "progressive policy," it's racism. You expect Arabs to be childlike and generally incapable of reasonable politics, and thus, you expect very little of them and chastize them by taking away their toys.

When a force that exists independent of a legitimate government has shown that it is both aggressive and able to cause substantial harm, and the legitimate government in the area has taken no steps to handle the matter domestically, what do you think the appropriate response is? Economic sanctions? Yes, there's a brilliant idea. Let's concentrate the wealth even more firmly in the hands of insurgents! Ignore them? No, not an option. We already know that they both can and will cause harm. Threaten them with an international war tribunal? Right, just issue the warrant and send Interpol.

War is not the first resort for anything, but that does not make it universally inappropriate.

-----

As far as the 9/11 conspiracies, I think they're blown largely out of proportion from the details that don't mesh with the official story. You have to make quite the jump to go from the towers being demolished with explosives to the US government/corporate leaders/Auntie Marge staging the attack for selfish gain. More likely, I think it was a decision made to limit the damage. How do you go on the air and say "We can't give your trapped loved ones any more time. We're going to implode the building so it doesn't fall and kill even more people and destroy even more property." Maybe it came down an hour before it would have. Maybe it came down two weeks before it would have. There's just no telling.

Unfortunately that's the reality when there's no chance for rehabilitation or changing people's views, and their views are "so-and-so must die because they are wrong." There is no real choice is there? If you knew that someone was coming to kill your family, and only you knew they were coming. The police don't believe you, the person in question has too much power, you can't hide from them or get away from them. You can't take preventative measures because they'll circumvent anything you do. What would you do, simply let your family die?

The alternative would reflect the state of the country in V for Vendetta. The government given absolute power to watch your every move and word. As always though, absolute power corrupts. As seen through the Finger men, you're just trading one horror for another.

At this point, even if the United States withdrew from ALL world affairs. Didn't send anyone anywhere despite being criticized by the majority of the world for not helping, we'd still be targets just because of idea that the United States is one of their focal points of hatred. Either way, you're damned. People sometimes say that the US should keep its nose out of other people's business but then gets slammed for not helping Israel or South Korea, wherever. Yet, if they do help, then they become the target of terrorists who have now created a culture that wouldn't be able to adapt if it wanted to. You breed an entire generation to hate the United States, you can't simply turn around and say, "Ok, the US has withdrawn from world affairs, we now hate.... China!" Criticize the direction all you want, but either way is a losing situation. I'd just rather the United States help than sit in a hole like an ostrich ignoring the world around them.

The government can't even get the lights on in Iraq.. yet you think they're capable of planning the 9/11 attacks without it being discovered? And don't say "Clearly it IS discovered if I know about it!"

I hate the people who are like "Steel doesn't melt at that low of a temperature!" Well, newsflash, steel doesn't have to melt to become weak. There are no pieces that fit together to reveal 9/11 as a scam. None. You know why the owner probably had terrorist insurance? Because the buildings had been subject to terrorist attacks PREVIOUSLY. I know if I my house had been flooded, I'd be sure to get ahold of flood insurance even if I lived in a frack'n desert.

I hate George W. Bush with a passion, and even I don't think he would stoop to something like planning 9/11 for his own gain. Was he willing to take advantage of it? Yes. But he definitely didn't cause it.

So, delete the conspiracy websites from your bookmarks, because, I hate to tell you this... but people in general are idiots. They have the need to go "Ah-ha! I get it!" But really, they don't.

Seriously.. just.. gah.

EDIT: Watch the personal attacks.
Edit: I'll watch the personal attacks when he stops insulting thousands of people who died by claiming it was all part of a scam. Its stupid, and shows a complete lack of intelligence.

um.. I think both Liberals and Conservatives can generally agree that it was an actual event. I'm pretty far into the liberal field, and I don't know any of my liberal friends who think it was a government plot.

This is a topic for the rationals and crazies to fight over.

You're talking about the Corinthian VS your posts. I'm talking about Vesar's letter thingie VS Elryn.
