Conflict Quests

I get it that the administration has opted to not stick with conflict quests and I understand parts of the reasoning for why that decision was made. Its aggravating to the playerbase to have to work laboriously and tediously for hours on end doing repetitive tasks to save your revered denizens/power/bowl of frosted shadowcrows just because a few masochistic players from Magnagora/Serenwilde/etc. spent 20 hours of their day gathering Nejii's sheddings to piss you off. I get that.

The biggest problem that the conflict quests had was that when one side did a quest to hurt your side, you had no choice but to work like mad to counter it or suffer until you did. Here's what I'd suggest to change that:

â—¦ Make conflict quests a one-time attack. No more continual assaults until a counterquest is done.
â—¦ Increase how much they can hurt another organization. A higher power drain, perhaps killing off a percentage of the city/commune's guards. This is to offset the fact that it won't be a continual effect.
â—¦ Incorporate finding items, bashing certain creatures and influencing others to offer a variety of ways people can involve themselves in the quest.
â—¦ For quests like killing Hart or Crow, change the quests to wound and not kill them immediately. If they have been wounded so many times in a row they become weaker and can be killed directly by mortal attacks, i.e. a raiding party.
â—¦ Let the quests be done only two to four times a year.

I think I had others but that's all I remember right now. What this would do is allow organizations to take shots at each other in a more meaningful way than just chewing up some guards and such. It also gives more people the opportunity to help out in a combative way without having to actually be combatants. The quests won't be the horror-inspiring drudgeries they were before and they certainly wouldn't be able to be the sole weapons a war is fought with but they would be able to add to an organizations arsenal. Not to mention, taking a shot at Crow is a hell of a lot more offensive than just showing up in Glomdoring and wiping out their guards.

I want people to be able to rattle my character's world by organizing a concerted and massive attack against the White Hart. I want to be able to retaliate by blowing a hole in Crow. I still have 100% faith that a way can be found to incorporate conflict quests into the world of Lusternia and not have the playerbase dwindle as quickly as Richter's real life bank accounts during a credit sale.

Estara posted -somewhere- awhile ago an idea that maybe Avatars/DL/Supernals could only be slain at X times (due to astrological alignments), to decrease frequency of raids.

Weather that's a good suggestion or not, I don't know, but I think it's important to give everyone time to recharge, village revolts/wilde nodes recognize this. The bigger the conflict the more time needed to recharge, losing outer planar beings.. once a day? isn't enough time to recharge. You'll start losing playerbase (and aren't we trying to -gain- player base so we can introduce more orgs?)

The admin seem to recognize that at least, as the Avatars were beefed up a week or so ago, and the Supernals/Demon lords were beefed up.. what eight, or ten times since Lusternia opened? To the point where even 22 people die to gorgulu, whereas I believe Nars was able to kill him on his own in the beginning?

However it's not just about outer planar beings, working towards reducing frequency of raids in proportion to strength of raids is a good thing, and I think that's why the admin have been stearing away from creating more conflict quests.

I'm sorry what? It may just be late but none of that seemed to actually apply to the original post.
