I thought it would be fun to post random memories from when you were a newbie in Lusternia and some of the stupid things you thought/did. I'll get right to it and post some examples, I wasn't a true newbie because I had played Achaea for a few years before I started Lusternia but anyways here goes...

My first character was a Moondancer around when Open Beta just began, I'm not really sure why I picked them but I think it was because I'm partial to forestal characters but I didn't want a Druid since I was one in Achaea . Anyways, I just wanted to get a peek at the skills and I tried to go to Serenwilde to find a tutor. However, this was when the exit from Portals took you to the commune proper north of the news room, so I easily became really lost. Eventually I went back to Portals and just went to the Pool of Stars because I thought it was just a meeting area. All of my other characters went there to learn from Meleris regardless of what city/guild they were in for a long time. I remember seeing the ability for Nut in Nature and I pretty much immediately decided I wouldn't want to be a Moondancer since I didn't want anything Druid related and thought that Nut was for making a grove of your own trees to tend and care for.

I remember for one reason or another I thought Faeriefire was the bashing attack because I have must have accidentily skipped the AB file for Talisman. I spent at least 10 minutes trying to figure out why I couldn't Faeriefire things to death.

While at the Pool of Stars I thought everyone was super powerful because they were being followed around by Archangels and the Pool of Stars kept glittering all the time and everyone kept shining from drawing power and such. I got really annoyed by all the spam and went and ended up hunting hummingbirds and attacked a Kinsman who promptly killed me. I also remember laughing because the Pool of Stars was at -1000 power.

I vaguely remember learning some Totems up to Crow and thought I could Caw a single person but it ended up affecting everyone in the room. On a later character I remember getting mad at newbies in Newton who stole my kills so I'd Caw and they'd run around aimlessly for a while and I just laughed at them for a bit until I told them to Compose.

I'm sure I'll think of more later.

EDIT: Well, in that case, I remember thinking it'd be a good idea to jump Daevos in a group of seven in the mountain ranges, and being totally surprised that contagion pwned 6 of us on its own while Daevos easily finished off the only competent one there...

I don't mean normal memories, I mean stupid things that you did because you were sorely mistaken for one reason or another.

I didn't learn Totems for a while because I thought it was all about building Totem poles and whatnot.

I remember how ignite was a wtfuberpwn affliction before anyone had frost vials.

When I was a Celestine I thought enfeeble was the same skill as enfeeble from Achaea that withered limbs. So that counts for a few deaths.

Killing the Glomdoring councillors because I thought Laysus needed help.

I remember wandering around Avechna's Peak, not necessarily because I was lost (because I was), but because I had never played a text game before and was taking the time to look at every room description. I did this well into Newton Caverns as well .

I remember walking into Glomdoring to explore and getting all the way to the Ravenwood Tree before anyone saw me. That person smiled and greeted me, then must have finally honours me because then he tried to chase me out .

While still a total newbie, I was testing out the paladins with Miyumi (who was a furrikin). Well, I decided to hunt up on ethereal without knowing about the PROBE before attacking, and attacked a frost hag... promptly dieing to it. Then Bandeon called asked for me to meet him over GNT and this, "Ah S***" feeling came over me as everything fell silent and my stomach developed a stone.

Well, he asked me why I had attacked the Hag and told me of the thin agreement between Celest and Seren at the time. So, afraid to break character and tell him I had no idea what I was doing at the time, I said I was trying to reincarnate into an aslaran. (Miyumi was a furrikin)

After a trip to Celestia and a few oaths, he took me up to the portal of fate and tried to explain that I was supposed to go in after he killed me... but the wind was catching his voice and I didn't understand him at the time, but I wasn't givin the time to tell him that. He killed me, and after awhile of trying the commands standing on the mountain path, I was revived. Feeling exceptionally stupid, I promptly dropped my pack and suicided. Under the idea that if I wasn't around, Seren would have no reason to break whatever agreement the two had at the time.

Everyone was in Newton cavern in beta. We basically camped there. Then someone thought its a good idea to hex somebody with scabbies. Within 5 minutes, everyone have scabbies, scratching simultaneously, so bad that it spammed the out of our computer screens. We all went to PORTALS to seek the Fate guide's help only to see them scratching themselves too, with a bunch of people who also have scabbies.

First outbreak of disease in Lusternia and I was there when it happened! *posts "Gelo was here!" in PORTALS*

That explains why I always had a plentiful supply of cows.

...which I would use cosmicfire on, not knowing about commodity quests.

Part of the reasons why people were camping there is because people keeps on killing Bolt and Mucka!
They made Mucka and Bolt immune to all harm now though... Hey If people keeps on killing me will they grant me immunity to all attacks also??

I remember stealing farmers from Acknor back around Level 15-20. Made 5 levels and about 6,000 gold from it before Mag caught on and enemied me. Unfortunately, they enemied me while I was in Acknor retrieving farmers, and so when I went to leave, I ran smack into 10 guards. That was unpleasant.

When Guido was still a Serenguard, back in open beta, Visaeris performed one of his infamous one-man raids against the Serenwilde. I went up and started attacking him with my crappy clubs and he nailed me with a couple of afflictions and amissio, which I had no idea how to cure. I ran back to the Moonhart, and he followed me in and proceeded to wrack me. Much pain.



Two days later I quit the Serenwilde to join the Disciples of Crow with him. Such fun days...

I seem to remember thinking a citymate had slammed me with a heap of afflictions which I had no idea how to cure, when it was actually a statue tuned against some clan. SO humiliating.

I was sexually harassed at portals but managed to scare the person off

Stupid thing I did... those forestal meldings....I thought they meant I was getting near to a city in the sky or something.

I remeber when i was total noob.
I was kicking finks in Newton up to level 15 or so, until Corbenic told me to use cosmicfire.
And later to spend week or so on getting honors in Newton.
And not caring about Celest, power and so on.
Get PWND by platypus when he broke my legs and i couldnt use pentagram.
Attacked Spectre and had to run cose he was to hard for me back then. I didnt had fire vial and i get hit by frozing. And the horror of trying to reach Bob to buy fire potion.
Maping whole Blasted Lands and not get caught by gravedigger. I didnt know that gravediggers even lives there. But get killed by them second time i was there.

And many many more things.

I remember getting an obscene amount of levels off Visaeris on one of his raids.

Oldest memories I have of Lusternia:

Getting killed by Revan and enemied to Magnagora for cleaning his demesne in Delport, back when Mag owned everyone.

Doing Kivati's novice training.

Getting accused of having my secretarial position because I was married to the GA's daughter (Not true!)

Getting bitched at by Acrune for doing his job.

Good times. *reminisces*

I remember wondering how to climb up to those strange trees in the sky above the road, and wondering if that was how you get to the ethereal plane.
