I remember making an alt in Celest during beta. People who were sick of Newton Caverns tried something else, but we dont know what is the best things to hunt for our level so we all ended up forming parties, which is easy for Celest because of health chanters.

So we formed a party of 3, the highest among us is Cuber or Colvan or someone else.. (not sure really...) He gave me a mana vial to cope up with the mana cost. We tried little things like cows but it was boring. We thought the moose (or something in the mountains) are great for us and we could handle it. He and another one attacked while I chanted. Then I found out that I'm out of mana. Cuber or Colvan or whoeverheis kept getting battered so bad that he had to say CHANT! CHANT! CHANT!

But I caaaant! Both of them ended up dying while I scurried away to safety.

Oh, this is the thing that made me sad/annoyed/furious the most out of all my time in Lusternia.

When beta ended and they gave everyone 75 credits each. I didn't have any alts though I'd killed off four just before they did that.

Awful.

I remember almost begging for somebody to give me the credits given during Beta because he was suiciding his character. He announced it on CT though so taking advantage of it seems embarassing
But man... 75 credits suicided away.

Ahh i transed Planar and Enchantments thanks to those credits.

Taking advantage of a dumb newbie, shame.

My first experience in Lusternia was -not- in the Moondancers with Zenji, it was pre-glomdoring's release with a little known Hartstone alt. (I doubt even his mentor would remember him now.) This was at least 6 months or so before I came back to start Zenji.

I remember how scared I was exploring faethorn, entering the etherglom and transversing down into glomdoring prime, I greeted the skeletal council and thought they would get angry and attack me, so I quickly transversed back to ethereal when I saw them. I had no clue how mobiles responded to non-enemies at that time.

Scary mobile=dangerous to the little noob that was my first alt.

Thinking I would lose all of my vials if I died with them still in my inventory, I made a practice of keeping all of them in my backpack unless I absolutely needed to use one, then I'd instantly put it back in my pack when I was done with it. That lasted pretty much until I hit... oh, the 38th circle of experience or so.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who thought this. I spent a long time trying to figure out how to get to ethereal with Tiran becasue of that.

Let's see, falling out of trees in the Northern Serenwilde with no mending, and not being able to move. Thank goodness for worldwide flow. Another time I fell, broke my legs, but I was riding my broom at the time, so I could fly back to mother to get help. They fixed that soon after.

I wasn't much of a newbie. The whole MUD concept drilled inside my brain rather easily. I do had troubles picturing the environment. When I saw taint I tought everything was polluted and full of toxins and maybe I could die or something. Then I remember how I climbed all the way to Avechna as a newbie because I didn't know what to do and I wanted to experience a bit. Then when I ported to the pool of stars I pictured it like a pool in the middle of a desert, not knowing that it was a city and I tought it was like the fountain in Cannae. I was a human Wicca. Maybe Enitan was the name, I'm not sure.

I had the same trouble with the ethereal trees.

I remember being in the msn chat and having Calesco tell us that it was finally open, and getting in within the first minute of Lusternia opening.

I remember bashing on novices with Nikua because they kept killing the quest mobs in Newton (yeah, I fought back then!).

I remember being poor and having a one room manse. >.>

Remember getting enemied to Serenwilde, because I accidentally overdrew power before I quit, and they thought I pulled a Guido (he overdrew on purpose).

I used to try and not stay in tainted areas too long aswell, yeah. I thought I would get some horrible didease or fever or something >.<

Just remembered another thing, my first character, Ytraelux, came out of the portal of fate as an Aqua. It was raining. Someone had flooded the whole peak. I almost instantly thought: Oooh, this MUD gets puddles when it rains!

I remember being a Serenguard and having Stag, and having the ability to bond with totempoles. I bonded with one in an important place, and then forgot about it, and came back to a message of frantic dismay, that I needed to unbond with the totem so it could be tuned... That was like, two weeks after I had bonded with it, I had gone on vacation, hehe.

I also remember wanting to explore the other Planes with Paren, so we decided to go to Earth and apparently Silvarus or whatever his name is had a demesne there, and he knocked us over and killed us. No chance to leave, no warning... And then he called us "Stupid novices" for being there in the first place.

I also wondered about those trees in the sky, and wondering if they were a gateway to Ethereal, heh.

And getting lost in the upper commune because Portals dumped us out at the news room, and never really being able to find my way around, even with CHELP DIRECTIONS.

And I thought weevils were really, really hard... I had such dinky swords.

I tought bashing as a Wicca would be like bashing as a wytchen

I just remember having NO idea how different planes worked, and how hard the grubs were as a newbie.

Oh and how everyone was using firewalls and people were dying all over the place.

Spinning around and around Celest following WTF the Nautilus Pompilus was!

Hearing things like "Water distorted" on CT and thinking that's what caused the Aquamancer flooding in Newton.

Oh. I remember my very first time playing Lusternia, November 2004. I couldn't think of a name, so I called it Prodigy just because I felt like it. Bobbins sent me a tell saying that I needed to change my name, and then I was scared because I thought it was someone chasing me around. So I ran around and around Lolliprin and there was a brief lull. At that point I decided to try to kill Shitake ( ), and promptly died and somehow my Pray for Salvation didn't work, and my char ended up frozen in the Halls of Time or something. Yeah...I started Gandal a year after that, November 2005.

I'll bet Bobbins put you in Time and that's why you couldn't pray for salvation.

I remember aliasing over my ability to heal which resulted in sending panicked tells to poor Nejii. We both thought I'd broken myself. Then Shorlen, more used to explaining things to newbies, guessed what was wrong and I was fixed.

And I remember forgetting I could sleep to heal, and ended up standing shielded with a rockeater or something in Skarch attacking the shield for half an hour until I got my healing ability back, since I'd burnt it out. That boggled Nejii's mind too.

And I remember teasing our "Uncle Nejii" with Sivriel and Tatiana.
