Compare and Contrast

Alright, I want to try and finish this book I had originally been working on, except I'm changing it a bit. Instead of looking at Crow and his Aspects, I'll be comparing and contrasting Hart and Crow.

The Aspects of Each Spirit

Crow | White Hart
------------------|-------------------
Blood Thirst | the Doe
Dark Spirit | the Buck
Black Sorrow | The foal
False Memory | the Stag

Edit: Thanks Diamondais, I thought it was the Stag.

Anyway, what I would like is for people to basically reply with this:

QUOTE
Aspect-
Teaching, short (one word)-
Teaching, long-
View on other Spirit and/or aspect(s)-

Does anyone know if Raven had aspects? If you do, please tell me what their names where.

--For those who say "do your research ingame" I can't and I won't. 1.) Won't go with Ksilrinda's RP. 2.) I highly doubt people will enjoy receiving a random tell from a blacktalon asking these questions. Even if they would...Ksilrinda won't do that, even though she originally did. Her RP has changed.

Um..should be all, I think I had more questions though but I don't remember what they were.

Thanks in advance.

Its White Stag. Good luck, Id offer you more but I have to go for a bit. smile.gif

Your first problem is going to be that Hart's Aspects are different than Crow's. Hart's aspects represent different stages and positions in life, and that each stage is part of the whole. White Hart is very Buddhist.. you learn through experience and living, and that the long road that that brings will always leave you wiser and stronger than one who reaches beyond their reality and refuses to admit or learn from their limitations.. that being what they consider Crow's teachings.
Unknown2006-09-16 22:46:07
I know Hart's teachings differ from Crow's. I just want people's input. I'll go from the information I get.
Unknown2006-09-16 22:48:44
I don't mean they are just different.. I mean... I've never known them to have individual teachings. That's the whole point.. they're all sort of aspects of the whole.. all parts of the whole.. they may be individual.. but they all represent the same lesson, that you learn as you go.

Unless things have changed recently, of course.

I'm actually going to push in the "do the research in-game" direction. You've already expressly stated it's for IC purposes.

Agreed. Not to mention all those lovely scrolls that are just waiting to be read in the guildhall!
Unknown2006-09-16 23:09:29
Right, check IC. Just getting members of both guilds to talk to you, let alone divulge that info, will be an adventure in itself.

This is very true.

The individual aspects have no separate teachings other than what you wish them to be.

The interpretation that Elryn makes is that they are kind of like little echoes of White Hart that bounce back and forward through time, since he exists with some measure of objectivity to it (Before-Time in my interpretation). So when you enter the dreamworld to go speak with them, they are like semi-oracular figures who know all about the past and the future, but its one and the same to them.

Oh, a question I've always wondered about though... is it possible to kill a Hart aspect and take the body back to the real world (as in, out of the Last Hallow section)?

Agreed as well.

It makes me sad that Glomdoring people don't talk to me. I suppose I understand why but still...
Unknown2006-09-17 01:41:12
Aye. If its not charaterful for Ksilrinda to do the research, its not characterful for her to write the book.
Shiri2006-09-17 02:11:13
Ksilrinda didn't have a problem talking to me last time she wanted to do some Seren-related research, so y'should just ask Anarias this time around! smile.gif
Unknown2006-09-17 06:47:19
Well, when I first started writing this, Ksil was very...shy yet "happy" ish. She's very bookish now and rrclusive of sorts. Ksil wants to see the differences and similarities between Crow and Hart, not only for scholarly purposes but for her own. Was she wrong in trusting Crow? I would go around doing random tells but it doesn't fit her personality to do so, if anything I'll probably ask Anarias(gm right?) if I could speak to Hart on my own...she doesn't really trust Seren for reasons. That's why I asked on the forums, but right now I'm not so sure I'll go through with writing the book. Thanks for the comments, I guess.

If you're writing an ic book, do the research ic...

Agreed. This thread also has high chances of turning to a flamewar over Hart and Crow, because the gloms will take any opportunity they can to try and make it seem like Crow isn't teh suck.

OMG! Flame time! ninja.gif

Crow is teh bomb, n00b. Hart is all like "figur it out urself cuz i dont kno and only what u learn urself matters cuz ur mor important than ne1 else, even ur leaders." Then Crow (cuz hes da bomb) says "be patient, be a griefer, flame ne1 who makes fun of u, and kick some serious n00b butt." Crow >>>>> Hart

Uh... what? Crow is pretty damn cool, though I admit I'm just about the most biased person in the game when it comes to Crow. As for Hart, I'm not so sure about him. I really ought to take a closer look at Serenwilde, they're the org I know the least about. Crow aspects, Demon Lords, Supernals, and to a lesser extent the Night Avatars, I know as well as anyone in the game, but Moon are Hart seem to be much more... vague. Maybe that's part of what makes Serenwilde so hard to define, along with their ambiguous devotion to "nature"... and now I'm pretty far off topic.

Unknown2006-09-17 22:55:30
I really like the synergy between Crow and Hart, and I don't think either are less fleshed out or interesting than the other.

Why would there be a flame war? huh.gif
Eilar2006-09-18 00:34:36
I think it's really interesting, too! And there are always going to be people incapable or unwilling to find this stuff out IC... and it'll at least make a break from mocking nymphomaniac novices and insulting each other, right? tongue.gif

Nah.
