And as for messed up family trees, I married my cousin's son!
That's how we roll. Aesyra and I shoulda had a few kids, then divorced.

From the start, the Mes'ard family was founded with the intent of being a strong noble family. It was mainly (and I believe it still is?) comprised of leaders within their communities. There was an important time before you considered a child where you explained to them that the Mes'ard family is as such. If they were to get married it was highly encouraged that the family member do the proposing, to make the family stronger.
While you can argue it is unfair in relationships to be told what to do, it is also unfair to the family to agree to be considered and then be contrary to the family model. If you don't like it, the answer is quite simple. Go chase after a different family.
If Gregori ever returned he would be ashamed to learn that the family we worked hard to promote thinks being insane is cute. There was a time when the only insanity was in Ixchilgal's twisted side of the family and rightly so.
Stop making a mockery of the Mes'ard name.

Linwe isn't quite so bad as she looks from this topic alone, if it helps Skyla, she can be respectable and stuff when she wants to be and has been when talking to me in the past

I actually tried working on the Mes'ard extended family tree ages ago, before Kiarlea turned out to be a sister, and gave up because it seemed too complicated even then. By "extended" it semi-tried to include Sayelles and Skyla's (unofficial) son with Tuek whose name I can't remember anymore but who was Tatiana's, Sivriel's and my older half-brother. Now we've added more extensions and relations-by-marriage so it'd be even more complicated.
Aha, and if you're going to include once-family-connections even if they were never official ... Bau Sayelle (sister of Skyla Sayelle who married Gregori Mes'ard, who had the beginning pack of us) was once, I believe, Vix's mother until Vix disowned the association. Vix is now with Nejii Talanara, making the entire Talnara family a sub-branch from one of the extended connections. *sagenod*
I remember when the Talnaras were Nejii and (inactive) Azora. Upstart furry munchkins ...
Mes'ard family motto (revised edition): You're related to us, you just might not realize it yet.
The name of Tuek and Skyla's unofficial kid was Lazul... Unsure if he is still around any more.

You do know Reiha, Ildaudid and Ixion, right?
Reiha created Ortia, Ildaudid screams Emo everytime I say something and Ixion keeps saying I'm gay
Aww, I still lub you, Orti. Even though you hate me for being a Gloomie.
And let's not forget about Narses, he's Celestian too. And soon, we'll be married and having babies... Who are already sixteen or older and popping out of the Portal.

So THAT'S where Ildaudid gets his, "That's how I roll" speech, which he uses constantly, like when he killed a friend of Reiha's because she was giving her piercings. Which he got a pat on the back from Fain for

Actually, he probably got it the same place I did. It's more of a "cultural" speech of MD/DC.

This is to Skyla:
The family Mes'ard is still made up of strong-minded, ambitious people. Half are insane, yes, Ill fully admit that. Yet, those people add flavour to the family, I have no doubts in my mind that they wont ascend to higher positions in their Guilds or in the Commune or for the Magnagoran branch, their Guilds and their City. Every Serenwilde Mes'ard is highly loyal to the Serenwilde, and likewise with the Magnagoran branch. Many of them, when it comes to marriage, in the Serenwilde are really going about it to have their partner marry into the family where as only a couple have married out, Sivriel being the first and only so far and myself eventually. There is no need to worry about lack of family members in the Mes'ards, Kiarlea and the SRN's are doing pretty well with that worry (). If someone where to choose to marry out, the family can and will roleplay it in a way to try and change the couples mind about their family choice, giving permission may make it seem nicer to have the other marry in seeing as the family appears nicer and more forgiving towards them.
This is to Orti:
If I ever go Moondancer and get a Pooka, we'll see whom the Pooka likes.

An anti-Seeking-Husband/Wife thread, eh? Cool. I'll add to it.
Exarius is officially NOT looking for anyone to make him melodramatic promises of eternal devotion, followed by the requisite tearful breakup and/or wordless abandoment.
He is also NOT looking for anyone to role-play out bearing/raising his children.
Anyone wishing to take on these non-existent positions, send your application to noreally@chillalready.org, and I'll fail to get back to you as soon as possible.

Just rereading Skyla's post..Im suddenly glad Gregori is gone, and yet at the same time Im not sure anymore if I like the idea of being a Mes'ard. I cant be adopted for some strange reason still , we think its the engagement even though its gone through with them before. Just sad some of the things we run into.
