But the ship on the East Coast can't move to the West Coast. For all purposes except movement the different coasts count as the same territory, but a fleet on the E.C. of a continent can't travel along the coast to the W.C. because it would either have to travel through Shallach, the Necropolis, and Magnagora, or Angkrag, Glomdoring, and the Ballach Swamp.

The Great Pass and the Blasted Lands are exceptions to this. They fall under the rules of the countries in the real game where they count as having a single coast, so a fleet can pass through them.

Otherwise, Hallifax, Ackleberry and Gaudiguch would not have a very fair situation.

Gotcha, they effectively have canals. It does make a lot more sense that way, since I remember thinking that the setup really sucked for Hallifax and Ackleberry.
