I was hoping for some returning player advice, as the topic title states. Not looking for anything verbose, just some tips that will help me acclimate myself to Lusternia again. Aym is now 60 years old, but I feel like she is still covered in noob sauce. I don't know what skills to focus on, what new additions I should read up on, all those types of things.
On a side note, it was my interactions with Shayle and the recent fun with being slain by the Prince that led me to actually want to bring Aym around more.

There's a giant war going on, so learn to keep a watch for if people are nearby. The major changes are the removal of conflict quests (so the sea battles don't actually do anything at all anymore) and the political restructuring of the gameworld (Seren and Mag vs Celest and Glom).
You're a nihilist, right? There are now symbols you can get at mythical nihilism that give you a stronger bashing attack than cosmicfire.
Not sure what else to say.
EDIT: Well, except, welcome back, and sorry for being a jerk over a year ago when we last talked
Aym2006-09-19 13:00:54
I was Nihilist with my no longer played Etain. Aym is a Glomdoring Shadowdancer, run away from Magnagora when she realized her Mummy and Daddy were not going to come back for her. (Llexyn and Silvanus) You'll have to get her story from her IC. I made some rash choices with Etain, not making the same mistake with Aym.
You weren't a jerk Shorlen, I still heart you.

Thanks! I missed you too!
Someone IC gave me the advice of, "Don't sleep on the ground or the something will get you" That is the kind of advice that I'm really looking for. The kind you'd probably give a little bitty nooblet.

Squint ahead in the blasted lands: mounds of sand are not your friend!
(And yes, missed you. )

If a dreamwaver is attacking you, fly.
Sleep in the trees, but don't climb up if attacked by a dreamweaver.
Avoid the Earth plane. (I think?)
Don't go into Seren villages.
You are Glomdoring, individuality is a no-no

This is one of the reasons I thought Glomdoring would be interesting for me. I am usually a bit of a stand out wherever I go. It is nice to just kind of blend in and hide away, doing my own thing for a change without bothering anyone else.

Welcome back!
Im not sure if I remember you or not, but the names do sound familiar.
Watch out for Dreamweavers, theyre a bit buggy but they can be annoying to deal with. And take care, Celest and Serenwilde are at war so you might accidentally get caught up in it.

Not sure if the policy changed, but Glomdorings are not allowed on Earth and Nil, unenemied or not. Asked to leave first, then killed if the person does not comply. But that was a short time after Ixion left, so maybe it's changed - though unenemied Gloms are free to walk through the city. As for the strict policy, it's because Mags aren't welcomed without an escort to Glom, among other things

It is alright I promise! I understand how those things can happen. I am still laughing about it. Aym doesn't mind death so much, to her it felt more like an initiation than anything being her first real interaction with others in her guild besides Shayle.

Yay! I love that those things work so well. Shayle likes to force guild bonding now and again, and I can think of no more successful tactic as far as getting people involved goes! Won't be the last mandatory guild activity Aym is doing. Haha!
I'm glad to hear you're planning on spending more time with us. I like Aym a lot, and if she's around more, we can put her to work.
And as for Diamante, well, Diamante got the "Shayle evil glare of doom" for killing Aym, and really, what is more fun than glaring at Dia?

Teasing of course. I'd love to help any way I can once I'm not a walking zombie of ignorance.
