Dear Mythbusters,
Is it true that more expensive designs yield better stats in robes and forgings?
Is it true that more expensive designs yield better stats in robes and forgings?
No. The best Greatrobes I've ever made were the cheapest design I could make at the time.
Unknown2006-09-27 14:14:11
It really depends on the skill level of the tailor and you're really lucky if they made a balanced stat for your robes unless like a forger they could 'smelt' (don't know the skill name for Tailors) robes and redo it again.
EDIT:
And oh, sorry if the "Allheale cures all" myth is taking long, been really busy nowadays and hardly get to play so whenever I get the chance, I'll start working on the rest.

That's completely untrue. All greatrobes made by a tailor are 12/12, and then it's up to the enchanter to make them good or bad. And tailor's can only "smelt" with a 400cr artifact that just isn't worth paying for something that should have been a skill in the skillset.
What I actually wonder is if the skill level of the ENCHANTER effects how well the robes come out.
Ekard2006-09-27 16:08:03
I bet enchanting robes is as much random as forging armour.
Just much more expensive then forging.

Reiha2006-09-27 16:38:37
Enchanting outcomes for robes are random, though I hear if you enchant them uninterrupted it yields better stats. As for skill level, not that I have noticed.

Dear mythbusters. Does any of the following afflictions exist or are they just the myth:
void, black lung, dissonant, hemiplegy, hypersomnia (not narcolepsy), lethargy, thin blod (not relapsing), scabies.
Thank you in advance

Most of them do!
- void - suopposedly a dreamweaver affliction, but only gives stupidity right now
- black lung - makes you cough up phlegm, not sure where it comes from, but I've seen it
- dissonance - unknown to me
- hemiplegy - a warrior affliction, paralysing you completely on one side
- hypersomnia - apparently an angel affliction
- lethargy - not sure, but I think it's a venom
- thin blood - definitely a venom
- scabies - demon affliction that jumps from person to person, nasty stuff

lethargy - not sure, but I think it's a venom
--Also a Rune

Thin blood is also known as Relapsing and is given by both a venom and can be given by charybdon. It causes you to be reafflicted with afflictions you recently had. I'm pretty sure that thin blood IS relapsing at any rate.
Hypersomnia can be given by Moon Tarot I'm told, and it prevents Insomnia until cured.
Black Lung throws you off balance often, and it's given by a Blacktalon demesne effect (Murder).
Hemiplegy is a warrior and nihilist affliction that paralyses one side of your body, preventing you from using your arm on that side until cured (and it might hinder movement too).
Scabbies is a demon afflict, a hex, something you can get from a scroll of curses, and something given by Slaughs. It causes you to lose balance for a very short time, but rapidly, and is contagious, so others in the room slowly get afflicted by it if you are afflicted by it.
Lethargy is given by a venom and a rune, as others have said, but I have NO idea what it does.
Void does not exist.
Dissonant does not exist, and is an Achaean affliction.

Soooo... anyone able to say for certain if your explorer ranking goes up if you burrow underground to explore new places?
Unknown2006-09-27 21:58:54
Lethargy slows your balance slightly, like the other affliction that i'm blanking on does to equilibrium.
And Blacklung can also be given by Crow Disease. If I recall, it also acts like asthma in that it prevents smoking.

Thought it was weakness that stopped flying and sprinting. The Glom wasps give it right? Let's get the mythbusters checking those!

Ok, this was getting messy as a thread. Let's make it a subforum!
Title threads as a question: "Is Roark really naked?"
Don't forget to use the lovely emoticons!
