Back it up, back off, or get issued, because this is just the most purile form of character assassination.

No, this is the most puerile form of character assasination:

ninja.gif I'm a closet MS player, as I have a weakness for cute little games, even ones full of idiots. PM me if you want my character names so I don't hijack this thread anymore.

So anyway. Dissatisfaction.

Auseklis was there as a counterweight, he was pushing to ignore the affairs of the cities and look inward, to not give a whit whether we had even one village under our sway.

Wait, I just saw this. Its not even close to true. Here's an excerpt from one of Auseklis' posts to the Serenwilde. He goes on about this in more detail in his post but these are the specific points that address the above quote.

QUOTE

I feel that Serenwilde should NOT be more isolated from the cities.

...officially drawing away from the cities will cause innumerable
problems.

Withdrawing has little, if any, benefit that I can see.

The first time I ever posted in news it was to suggest Serenwilde should have "influence drills" to prepare for village influencing. This was during that very first round of influencing when the villages first came into play, and Serenwilde didn't even try for them. Auseklis singled me out with a divine favor for proposing it (and said that it was the only sense on the board at all), though as far as I can tell, no one else even read it. So I guess from day one he wanted us to get villages.

Accidentally posted without content. Trying again. :-P

If you are happy for it to be here, very well.

You scammed a certain player by encouraging and approving their map making attempt, supporting their intent with full knowledge they were trying to emulate your style (while still keeping it distinctive enough to be their own creation). As I understand it, this included you personally approving partial and completed versions of the map before it was submitted, as the player in question wanted to make sure there was no copyright issue. When it was finished, you actually declared it a great effort and urged them to submit it.

Then, when Estarra noticed the similarities (giving you the benefit of the doubt), you suddenly 'forgot' that you'd been encouraging this attempt, and leapt at the chance to declare it a breach of copyright so that the player in question was treated as some kind of thief, when in reality they had had your assurances all along that you had no problem with it. You manipulated Estarra when the opportunity was presented, and it is my opinion (only) that you seem the type that would be all too happy to use any such opportunity or position to do so again.

I won't mention the player name because the results of this scam are still hurtful, and there's no need to punish the victim.

Has this innocent victim EVER mentioned even once that I asked him to make two little changes, which he did, after which I officially withdrew my objections? And that after he made those two little changes, Estarra PUBLISHED that map to the Lusternia web site?

Go look at the bloody maps page, already! Any discrimination or emotional distress that "Innocent Victim" has received over his Gray Moors map since then has been entirely without my knowledge or consent.

I also remember the details you recount as happening somewhat differently, but we won't go into that. The fact remains that I was offered an opportunity to shoot the map down cold, and I didn't.

I'm neither pleased nor proud of how everything played out for that scenario. I accepted fault back when it happened. Yes, "Innocent Victim" got his pride burned. That does not make it a con game, no matter how soothing he finds the conspiracy theory.

I'm glad you have remorse for your actions.

I have no interest in debating the specifics of what actually occurred, or how minor you might think the transgression. I'm well aware of how it played out. You wanted an explanation for why I don't like your personality, I gave it.

Much as you might like to believe otherwise, people aren't just 'out to get you' for the heck of it. Continue muddying the waters as you wish, though.

No, I asked for you to "back up" your accusations of con-games.

There are none. There never were any.

Hating me, on the other hand, is entirely your perogative. It's a very chic thing to do. Just don't let it turn into libel when there are so many juicy and real options for hating me.
