That and circles (levels) ought to be added to 'help dictionary'.
Why are circles more IC than levels? I hear more people refer to training levels than circles of experience.

Because you just don't go around in Lusternia saying "Hey, I just moved up a level!" You hear them say "Excellent, I have moved onto the next Circle" Level just sounds, and feels, OOC, and there are several NPCs out there who say Circles. When people use Levels, it's bad form.

No, no, they both feel very equally OOC. If you're not creative enough to sound IC, just use the word that the system provides you.

Agreed. People think that just by switching a word they'll make something IC, which is false. If you're going to mention it, level and circle both sound just as OOC, one just sounds like you think you're actually IC.

15.6.1 MADNESS
Adventurers are a special group of people. The Fates have given to adventurers
both strengths and weaknesses that denizens do not have. One of the weaknesses
to which an Adventurer may fall prey is insanity.
The first sign of insanity is when the poor victim starts to use words that are
meaningless to others, such as talking about "my PC" or "being online" as if
everybody else should know what it meant!
This happens when the help file contains specific newlines rather than full paragraphs for the mud to wrap based upon settings, and this isn't (or wasn't last time I checked, which was admittedly a while ago) the only help file to have this problem. If you check CONFIG, your WRAPWIDTH will be set to 79 rather than 80, which causes a space to be wrapped onto a new line, hence giving the apparently random line breaks. If you want to make the effect really obvious, try setting the wrap width to something like 50.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but HELP ARMOUR is confusing. Suggested revision:
13.5 ARMOUR AND SHIELDS
Normal armour is something you wear that protects you from both types of
physical damage (cutting and blunt). Warriors will use forged armour from
a blacksmith, while all other archetypes generally benefit from enchanted
robes made by a tailor and enchanter.
To see the status of your armor, type ARMSTAT. If your armor is damaged, you
will need to find a blacksmith or tailor to repair it for you.
The basic types of warrior armour in Lusternia, aside from shields,
are, in ascending order of effectiveness, with the best armour an
archetype may wear listed:
Warrior Armour type        Archetypes which may wear them
-------------------Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â ------------------------------
None                        Magi
Leather                    Wiccan, Druid
Scalemail
Chainmail                  Guardian
Field plate and
* Full plate                Warriors only
* Full plate armour is a bit different, in that the only warriors who may
wear it are those who have forged it for themselves.
Armour Statistics
-----------------
Non-magical armour and shields have two armour-specific statistics:
protection vs. cutting damage and protection vs. blunt damage. The
WEAPONPROBE ability in the Combat skill will allow you to see these
statistics on a piece of armour or on a shield.
When being struck by a weapon on a specific body part, armour will only
protect you if it is worn over that part. For example, wearing chainmail
leggings will protect you from a knight striking your legs with a scimitar,
but it will not help you if he strikes your head. For that you would need a
helmet or armour coif.
Great Robes
-----------
Anyone may wear enchanted great robes, and these generally
offer better protection than all forged suits apart from field and
full plate. Unlike regular armour, they increase the effectiveness
of your influencing due to their regal appearance. Thus for
archetypes other than Warriors they offer the best possible
defence and the best possible boost to influence from clothing.
Enchanted robes include a hood that can be raised or lowered (RAISE
HOOD, LOWER HOOD) to offer head protection. These important items
also may be proofed by skilled tailors to add additional resistance to
elemental and magical sources of damage.

HELP WEAVES
Weaves are a common term within the Basin of Life. The end of the Weave refers to a time when the Fates pore over the Tapestry and sort through the past events. The period of time from one weave to the next can be found from using the TIME command. The Fates check the Tapestry at 00:00 GMT, and a weave is often classified as the time from one checking to the next. When a weave ends, all logs of events such as guild, city and order logs are given a new page, and the previous scribings are moved back.
