19.10 Artifacts
(see also HELP ARTIFACT_TRADEINS, HELP ARTIFACT_TRANSFERS)
Artifacts are special items that can be purchased only with bound credits.
Unless otherwise stated, artifacts can be purchased in the Museum of Curious
Relics and Miraculous Marvels on Avechna's Peak. They will reset into your
inventory frequently, which means they cannot be loaned out, or stolen(!),
for very long. Some only work for the owner. They never decay. They cannot
be changed to reset to anyone else's inventory, so do not buy artifacts of
any kind if you intend to sell them.
Artifacts have been broken up into four categories First are OFFENSIVE
artifacts, then DEFENSIVE artifacts, then STATISTIC-ALTERING artifacts, and
then MISCELLANEOUS artifacts.
HOW TO PURCHASE
---------------
Many artifacts are available to you at the Museum of Curious Relics &
Miraculous Marvels on Avechna's Peak.
For any other requests or special needs, email artifacts@lusternia.com.
Please be very clear as to what you want to purchase and what you
believe it will cost. This is especially true in cases where you may
be claiming a discount, or other special consideration.

ARTIFACT TRADEIN
o This is the command to make the trade-in. You will be asked to confirm and
once confirmed, the artifact will be immediately and irrevocably
destroyed.
o You will receive artifact credits at 2/3 the value of the artifact.
Artifact credits may only be used to purchase new artifacts.

It looks like this scroll was updated when artifact credits became bound credits, but it looks like this line was missed. All references to artifact credits should now reference bound credits, which can be used to purchase new artifacts OR used to learn skills.

help furrikin
4.14.6 The Furrikin Race
The Elder God Bollikin was the first Elder God to fragment his being,
popularly believed because his gentle nature could not abide the
impending Elder Wars. As the first Elder God to splinter, Bollikin did
not achieve the uniformity of race reflected by other races. Legend has
it that Bollikin was so endeared to all the smaller creatures that he
could not concentrate on a chosen form at the time of fragmentation.
Subsequently, the furrikin race have an unusually wide range of forms,
some bearing a striking resemblance to rabbits or foxes or dogs or even
small bears (looking like miniature tae'dae). Whatever their form,
furrikins are generally quite diminutive and nimble. Furrikin are
considered a passive race, though they have been known to bristle their
hair when being derogatively referred to as "furrballs". {Editor's Note:
We wish to apologize to any furrikin who took offense to the "bristling
hair" remark. The author has been properly chastised.}

That would be an automatic five points off if my English teacher was grading this. Tsk.
Gwylifar2006-11-10 16:53:54
Though it's done that way in Britain, and everything else is in the British spelling, so this is probably "right".

HELP WILDARRANE
9.2.5.3 THE WILDARRANE SPECIALIZATION (Music)
This song style is tightly entwined with the songs of the fae, and developed by
Ialie Starsong, the founder of the Spiritsingers Guild, with the help of the
Dead Voice of the Elder God Trialante. The music is inspired by the sounds of
babbling brooks, rustling leaves and birdsong.
Last name is Starfall

And there should be a comma after "leaves".
(Yes, I know your English teacher said it was optional. I invoke the Great Spirits Strunk & White! All your serial comma are belong to us.)

Vix2006-11-11 04:06:09
Funny, I actually had my English teacher explain that to me too. She said it was something with typewriters and using lead during some World War and how typists decided to omit that comma as a way of supporting their soldiers. But according to her, the correct form should have that comma there.
Hiriako2006-11-12 13:22:24
Yeah, the correct form would include that comma. That said, in more modern days it is becoming commonplace to see it missing. I suppose you could even call it appropriate now!

Appointed Position: Guild Envoy
This position is generally appointed by the Guild Patron, though the Guildmaster may also make the appointment. In any regard, the Council of Elder Gods can remove this person from this position at any time and for any reason and demand another appointment. The Envoy represents the guild to the Council of Elder Gods as a liaison to discuss the guild skills and powers. The Envoy is responsible for gathering information from his or her guild members regarding guild skills and submit a report.
This is what I was remembering that time I was thinking that GMs could also appoint the Envoy, Charune. I'm fairly sure that this is the old help file's wording. This was under the plain 'Guilds' page of the website.

The Guild Archivist position is mentioned in passing in several help files (guildadmin, privatelibraries, books) but does not have its own file with the other guild positions.

In help auto, fishing is mentioned. I've been told that fishing doesn't exist in Lusternia.

It's not a help file, but I have noticed typos on the web site news a few times now. The most recent:

With deep spiritual ties to lost Ackleberry Forest, these residents of the valley have turned to the quiet pursuits of beekeeping and silk weaving.

I mean, fishing does exist, I guess (go into a river and kill fish) so I think it can be kept.

HELP CULTURALAFFAIRS lists all you need to know about the arena and it's commands. I used it near every time I set something up in the arena.

HELP WARGAMES explains how to start one.... though it should probably be in HELP CULTURALAFFAIRS too.
EDIT: HELP CULTURALAFFAIRS mentions the baitgame, btw, instead of slippers.
