(sorry for the offtopicness, but I feel the need to point out that passive blackout from dreamweaver demesnes lasts two seconds, and you don't necessarily have balance on those two seconds, so it's really kinda crappy. Also, allheale balance is ten seconds, mote hitting is every ten seconds, see a problem here? The eight second active version also doesn't stack on right if you cast it while they're blacked out, and you can't puncture the aura of someone who is blacked out to mote them anyway, so the passive blackout can be more of a detriment than an asset if you want to hit with motes.
So..... yeah. What's so special anyway about giving food poisons in blackout over something useful?)

Sure.. being able to give invisible Crotamine when you have the ability to also put someone to sleep is absolutely crappy. Silly me.

Crotamine's five or so messages aren't invisible, and putting someone to sleep with dreamweaving takes 15 power, so there's no reason not to follow up with sap, or you could just lash them to death while they're too busy falling asleep to handle it I guess that might be slightly faster though.... if you happen to have the poisoned food on you.... Wiccans can do that so much better though, as Tuek has shown, since they only need 2P to put someone to sleep (Yes, ironically, wiccans are far better at putting people to sleep through insomnia than dreamweavers ever will be, but when a dreamweaver does it, you're really really screwed)

There's your reason. Still, the balance on trickster is far too long for delivering morphite, botulism, crotamine, or faeleaf. I dare say speed warriors have a better chance of sticking it.

wow, now 44 thing there should be gloriana... And nobody is saying what gloriana is...

I'll hazard a guess and say that there are 44 different definitions of Gloriana.

Shorlen pointed out to me that even though I voted for Gloriana in this poll, what I'm really asking for is Glomdoring's same RP (improved a little bit maybe), but acting more welcoming.
I want Gloriana in the sense that I would like to see a Glomdoring in which the wyrd is not a foreign, altering force but a powerful spiritual destiny to which its followers are swayed (or dominated by). One that is quite different to the ideals of preservation and sanctity in a balanced natural order to which Serenwilde subscribes.

Glomdoring needs a true player-run government, not a Divine-run puppet state. Remove Viravain, or change her drastically to take a step back from Glomdoring's politics. Then do an event that ICly, shakes Glomdoring's foundations and removes external influences (IE, have Night and Crow decide that their guilds aren't their slaves, but rather in a symbiotic relationship with them, and should have autonomy to choose their own destiny). This would be shocking for Glomdoring (Going from almost entirely run by the Divine to the most drastically player-run organization in the game) but it would let players decide what they want for themselves inside the organization and maybe produce a more welcoming society inside it. It would also be a refreshing departure from most organizations in the game, which are insanely aligned with NPC entities (Which tend to be played in very inconsistent ways by the administration - It's much easier to put players in charge of an organization's roleplay).
In short: Players aren't babies (Or, most of us aren't), and the administration's attempts to babysit them haven't done much good. I don't particularly trust player governance (See: The Celestines) but it tends to give better results (See: Magnagora) than when our rotative deities take over and try to control everything that happens inside an org (See: Glomdoring).

(IE, have Night and Crow decide that their guilds aren't their slaves, but rather in a symbiotic relationship with them, and should have autonomy to choose their own destiny).
People have a lot of leeway in interpreting Night and Crow's teachings, and characters can essentially construe them to mean a lot of different things. It's not necessary, and would be too radical a departure for Glom. Viravain's theocracy, we can happily do without, but I'd say the teachings of Night and Crow are pretty much the backbone of most characters' lives. Those teachings set the ideological and cultural tenor of the place that we can't do without, but aren't restrictive at all in the way they're applied.

I think my response was more of a biased remark, as well.. On Gloms behalf.
Maybe viravain too but, viravain has changed WAY too many times already. It kind of gets old with viravain changing into something new often. I think we need a new divine all in general, make her keel over or something.
the best way for glom to change isnt to utterly change it outright, unless you make it into gloriana. But seeing as that is an UTTER change in general, I think we should make it die out and come back later. The 'we don't see taint' thing was overdone, if you ask me. But, I'm also biased on the glomdoring thing change. kari and i put everything into it, and we were told to quit leading Viravains guild because we saw the taint.

May I ask what happened with Viravain? For those of us who no longer play?
I doubt I'll ever get back to Lusternia, but I am curious to see if the admin is changing their style.

Anyone feel like posting what happened?
Unknown2006-09-30 20:50:21
Didn't save the logs, but basically Viravain was doing a ritual with Crow, and apparently Crow went bat-loco and killed Viravain. Charune shouted that she was dead.
Some Glomdoring folk still don't believe it. I got kicked out--I did recommend they go up and try talking to Crow himself, but I don't think they did that.
They have yet to become the "more open commune" But I'm interested in seeing what will happen with whatever's gonna happen.

I think they kicked you out because Crow was trying to SAVE Viravain.

There's only one thing in that entire post which is factual... well, two, if you count the "you're interested in seeing what will happen" part, which I hope is truthful.

It sure looked like Crow killed Viravain.
Shayle2006-09-30 20:55:27
That was pretty much completely not what happened.
