So Celest raided a few times today and we promptly had our butts handed to us. I must say that I enjoyed it, usually when Celest goes up there Seren liveforests and sits around, but this time they fought and did really well! It was a lot of fun and very welcome change of pace, so thanks Seren! I for one appreciate the fight, cause that's what I really like about Lusternia-the fighting! and sometimes, dying is part of that

Kind of annoying how it went on for 4 hours past a wedding and ritual though...(although we eventually got both of those done at least.)

I kept trying to go up there to help, but I kept getting lost

I got quite a bit of experience... and found a few holes in my reflexes, all in all very good.

I wondered what you were doing wandering around the fountain area when they were pwning us at the archway.

Welcome I had fun too...I was like whoa we are actually --going to them-- WOOOT, AT LAST!
Anarias2006-09-29 05:37:39
It was enjoyable for me for the first hour and then after that it was bleh. I don't have the stamina for long raids though. It was really gratifying to have someone take charge, say they were going and then actually do it.
Shiri2006-09-29 05:54:12
I'm not used to leading...Flacarealah, Laysus and I swapped over a few times, I think we could've done worse.
It helped that after the first couple times everyone actually stayed following me when I told them to.

Like Charune said IC he was impressed with how you handled that. Both on an OOC and IC level I thought you did well for a commune that is used to either letting someone else do all your fighting for you, or running off in 20 directions and hoping you might live long enough to hurt someone. Keep up the good work!

Too bad I can't play. I missed the fun.

I have to agree. It was really fun for the first hour, and then it just went 'bleh'. I left after one of the raids, expecting that Celest was done... but nope!

One of the things Celest has learned from the old days when Magnagora used to make big raids is patience. Celest def. has the discipline and willpower to make long raids. Sometimes, time is your best weapon!
Diamondais2006-09-29 16:36:57
We just wanted you go away so we could complete our Ritual and the wedding could be done.
Unknown2006-09-29 16:41:33
we didn't even know there was a wedding and ritual. Who got married?
Sarrasri2006-09-29 16:43:55
Azora and Turnus got married! It was a lovely wedding where I actually thought of a speech.

I'm going to have to call BS on that one. Back during the glory days of Village Influencing (before all this peaceful crud, but long after the constant Mag raids), Celest would pull out of a village after an hour or two of trying. Seren would stay for 4-8 hours until the village was swayed, and won many villagers from patience alone. Even when we tried to GIVE villages to Celest, we had issues keeping enough of their influencers logged in long enough for them to take it, even when we held the village completely on the fighting end.
The prime example of this was the nine hour Stewartsville revolt, where there were maybe two Seren influencers on when the village first revolted, and eight Celest influencers. So, we decided to help Celest take the village. We were told who to coordinate with, and not 30 minutes later, that person was suddenly not logged in. We milled about for a while, then finally found someone else from Celest to coordinate with, and then 30 minutes later, they were gone. After two hours, there were only two Celest influencers still around, and Seren influeners slowly started logging in. Many of the major Celestian influencers and fighters of the time logged in and out during the revolt - the Serens who logged in stayed. After four hours of influencing, even though we held the village completely at that point, there just weren't any Celestians around anymore. So, we took the village for ourselves, which took another four hours since we had to overcome Celest's score so far and still fight against the Mags.
This didn't happen just once - this happened many times. The problem is, all the Seren's who had so much patience seem to have quit Lusternia for one reason or another... I guess Celest finally learned their lesson though, that patience counts.

Stop dredging up old stories about Celest from ages ago as support for whatever argument you're trying to incite/defend/make. What was true then obviously no longer is. What is true now will not be true in the future.
Too many people do this on the forums, citing these ancient events as justification/explanation/whatever. I've been around for over a year now, and I don't remember any such occurence. Heck, I don't remember ever not trying to beat Seren in a village influencing. Thus, it's outdated.
Outdated events that are meant to negatively portray an organization as a whole are slanderous, because half of the people who were in Celest back then either no longer play, or have joined other orgs. It's unfair to apply such broad criticisms to the current player base, when chances are they have no clue what the you're referencing. This, of course, applies to all people from all orgs.
Just like I'm sure that in the future, if Glom does turn around and become radically different from the emo-haven the rest of the basin believes it is, it will -still- be called emo. And that just sucks to all the newer players there.
This isn't an attack against you, Shorlen. Your reference wasn't that bad, but I think this needed to be said. I see far too much of it on the forums and it bugs me.

Forumposters tend to be completely subjective. You won't get rid of it by just responding to the BS that's posted. People have their own oppinions about organisations, skills, fighting etc. They won't just move away from them. The only way to not see it is to stop coming to the forums. *shrug*
