Bards and artisians are destroying the wood economy, getting a hold of wood right now is harder than obtaining demi-god, or at least it is how it feels....

I could go into Seren or Glom any given day and gather close to 600 wood with no problems, now it is hard to find 50 total throughout the whole basin.....

I think at least in Magnagora, the city will have to decide if they would rather have their planes defended or a great overstock of bardic instruments being made....

As it stands now I will have to remove traps to even gather wood to make traps, and you don't get comms back from other peoples traps, only some from your own....

Theres actually an IG way to deal with it, may not be highly liked but meh. Bargin with Glomdoring for raw lumber, or find a way to grow saplings with a druids help (Fae dont really like this alternative I remember).

Ooh, a small set of handbells might be nice.

The problem is this, if I go through the trouble of doing either of those things, which I have no problem what so ever doing. I will have to turn in the lumber to lets say ankrag for processing, which means the city gets more wood.

Well here is where I will run into the problem, as soon as I go through all that effort, and make more wood for the city.... someone will buy it all... and I have just spent all my time helping someone else make instruments for bards that don't even exist yet

This will put my character into a homicidal frenzy, he would end up reading the help trades scrolls, and killing every artisian he finds there, then will start asking on market for an artisian and murder all that answer... We don't want an Artisian - Hunter/Tracker war to start

I haven't been able to get wood in...almost a year IG. I'm an Artisan. Most of the time, I have people give me comms and I make the instrument since I can't find the wood myself to conduct my trade. People have been wanting furniture made, and I haven't been able to provide it cause people are buying out all the wood everywhere.

I'd like it, really like it, if people STOPPED BUYING OUT THE WOOD COMMS. AT LEAST LEAVE 5, YOU GREEDY !!!

How can you use the fact that you need to sit down to play a harp as a reason for not having them, yet allow people to play their instruments with one hand? It's much easier to use a harp while standing than it is to play a violin with one hand.

Anyway, there are harps that can be carried, usually resting on a shoulder. That's how they started.

The lyre wasn't for me silly, I didn't get one... it was for my momma!! I wanted her to have the coolest damn bardic instrument in the game... and she got it... But she found it before I could find one to give to her as present for all the nights I kept her up late worrying about me

And yes, Gwylifar is right, there are harps you can carry around, and lyres are NOT in any way the same as a harp.

True, but with it one-handed, you can just buy a shield, which is much, much cheaper.

Not that I think they shoudl be one-handed, I just think they should count for weaponparry.

I think that having a recorder should be an option.

Seren (hartstone actually) already harvests all of our trees and sells them to our villages for peak lumber production + peak sapling/mature tree protection/growth rates, harvesting in the seren might get you some immediately, but it'll just hurt overall production.

I mean buying it from your comm shop not stealing trees, Nejii wouldn't like it if I chopped down yer trees without permission

By the way, my instrument is still one-handed...

Oh, that's different, others might get flustered if someone buys out all our commodities, I don't. I know Astrasia keeps a small emergency supply for official commune use(expansion projects and so on), so it's not like anyone is even hurt by it.

Doesn't quite work like that. If we're dipping into reserves then we're being hurt by it. Life-threateningly hurt? No. Hurt nonetheless? Yes.
