It's hard not to be overwhelmed! We're not really that surprised (though I didn't expect it to be THIS high) but it's a lot of work, especially since kata is not as easy as some other guild's skills to understand.

It's all good though. happy.gif

I think the overcomplicatedness of the monk skills will chase away the alts
Shiri2007-07-17 11:39:44
More like it'll chase away the non-alts.

We're badass enough to make up for it though maybe.

So, I decided today to try my hand at talking to a Divinity. I came from a Mud where the Divines were distant, and often cold beings, and mortals did not question them, or were killed for their insolence (player file destroyed.). I do not like talking to the divines because even Icly, I never know how to act. Simimi, is immensely afraid of Divinities in person, and as such, is also afraid of angering them through wrong speech. This is what went down.

Kneeling humbly, you press your palms together before you and close your eyes
momentarily as you pray devoutly to Terentia, the Even Bladed, "Glorious
Terentia, who guides me from the Havens, I beseech You for Your most divine
guidance.".

**I go to the Deep Blue Cathedral**

On the ground floor of the Deep Blue Cathedral.
This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. A beautiful lectern
of pearl and coral, delicately carved with scenes of the sea, sits across from
the pulpit set in the Cathedral's centre. Perfectly crafted of silver and opal,
an ornamental pulpit engraved with Celestial imagery sits at one side of the
raised platform in the Cathedral's centre.
You see exits leading north, northeast, southeast, southwest, northwest, in
(closed door), and out (open door).

A pulsing white glow forms in the air, and Terentia emerges from within it.

Terentia raises an eyebrow at you.

"Eep!", you scream in fright.

You have emoted: Simimi throws herself upon the ground, prostrating in humility.

Terentia, the Even Bladed says, "You requested Me, Simimi, what do you seek?"

You say, "I did, Excellency."

You say, "You would know better than any of us... What has happened to my
Church?"

Terentia, the Even Bladed says, "In what regard?"

You say, "How is it no one can know has happened, yet no one seems to notice
either."

You say, "There is a door here when prior there was none, and what was my home
above is now gone."

You say, "Inquiry within the city has brought nothing."

A flash of white light fills your senses. When the light clears and you are able
to see again, Terentia is gone.

You say, "I understand that this is something of little consequence to the Lady
of Light... but to me, and those who follow my action as members of this
institute of Faith... it is of importance to ouselves."

On the ground floor of the Deep Blue Cathedral.
You see exits leading north, northeast, southeast, southwest, northwest, up, and out (open door).

You give a pained sigh.

**suddenly I am moved from my location to**

On the ground floor of the Deep Blue Cathedral.
This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. What appears to be
an intricate four-story structure of spires and alcoves on the outside reveals
itself as an open, singular, massive chamber on the inside. The ground level is
filled with pews in concentric circles, radiating out from the centre of the
large floor. In the centre of the floor is a raised circular platform, with a
wide concentric system of steps leading up from all sides. In the middle of the
circular platform is a stone tile mosaic representation of the Pool of Stars,
the central landmark of New Celest. A single uncut, seamless slab of white
marble, winds up the inside of the large chamber in a tiered spiral, story after
story. Notably, the acoustics here are astounding. A beautiful lectern of pearl
and coral, delicately carved with scenes of the sea, sits across from the pulpit
set in the Cathedral's centre. Perfectly crafted of silver and opal, an
ornamental pulpit engraved with Celestial imagery sits at one side of the raised
platform in the Cathedral's centre.
You see exits leading north, northeast, southeast, southwest, northwest, up, and
out (open door).

**Then I am moved to...**
On the spiraling balcony within the Deep Blue Cathedral.
This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water.
You see a single exit leading down.

You ask, "I have returned?"

I am still in Celest...

My brain hurts...

EDIT: For those who do not know, the previous Church has an exit to the UP, where I lived. Now the UP is gone, and there is a mysterious door to the In, instead.

Simimi2007-07-17 14:08:21
I don't know... NOW when I go to the Church it is back to normal, with the up, but the in and door are now gone...

I want to know what is behind that door now...

Would you mind mentioning that mud's title, so I know what games not to try? Seriously, that sounds like it was being run by a bunch of self-important buffoons (probably a spelling mistake here). Probably the kind that embraces permadeath as "a realistic RP experience".

Back on topic. I know this is about funnies, but I feel like commenting. In Lusternia, more than any other MUD that I know, the mortals have an excuse NOT to grovel before the divine. I do not mean disrespect and be rude to them - they should treat them with respect, just as they should treat normal mortal characters with respect. But prostrating before a Divine in Lusternia has as much sense as prostrating before Krellan (not a personal attack, he's just the first fighter that came to my mind sad.gif ) for being a good PvPer - every mortal has a potential to overcome every Divine in might, maybe excluding Estarra.

As you might have noticed, I fully embrace Roark's teachings.
Simimi2007-07-17 15:09:20
Yes but I just can not bring myself to not grovel. I know if I didn't suddenly RP rules would come into play and I would be smited for my transgression.

A.V.A.T.A.R Mud, from the time when Snikt was in a bad mood, and deleted a bunch of people's chars, because he had a toothache or somesuch.
Unknown2007-07-17 15:14:42
Urgh. I hate admins like that.

Speaking of which, here's a little gem I've dug out.
Simimi2007-07-17 15:20:36
LMAO that is so true...

....how are charune's four legs a part of Lisarae? ermm.gif Wait. Nevermind. I don't want to know.
How did you even GET that from that statement?

That means that an elder gods circle is innate to their creation, just as much, if not more then their physical form is.

QUOTE
(Order): Lisaera says, "We were each born with differing traits. My being drawn toward Awakening is as much a part of Me as Charune's four legs."

It's possible to interpret that as Lisaera saying that Charune's legs are an important part of her, as she doesn't say "... as much a part of Me as Charune's four legs are to him". But I'm pretty sure Marina was kidding.

That's how I took it but yes, I was kidding. Humor doesn't always fall on willing ears, I suppose.
Jack2007-07-17 22:03:58
Yeah, some people are way too literal.

Not pointing any fingers.

At Wesmin.
