I'm pretty sure muting stops emotes because of people who do things like that.

I believe there are two forms of muting-- one that allows you to do emotes (like "writing in the dirt" to say things), and one that stops everything (if someone is abusing it this way, or for a stronger sort of punishment).

Why doesn't he just go play WoW?

Ooh. Is that a relatively recent change? like, past 6 months recent? I remember lots of people used to complain about basic mutings erasing any chance at RP.

No, I think it's been around for a while. The last rant I remember was Ixion (I believe) who was emoting around after a muting and then suddenly had his emotes stripped too. A Divine responded with, "You were abusing emotes to say things instead of writing them" as I remember it. It very well could have been someone else, though.

Yeah, getting around a muting WILL get you shrubbed. I used dreamweaving way back in the day to get around it, and i was shrubbed.

Oh, i believe there ARE two forms of muting. I've had mutings where communication didn't happen, period. My most recent one i couldn't use SAYS, YELLS, or SHOUTS. I could use aethers, tells, illusions, and emotes.
