And yeah, Nil is hard to defend, we all die due to pacts, our instakill is horrible since we have to 'bound' our enemies first before we can perform wrack unlike absolve that just drain their mana below half and poof you're dead.
Some things really should get a bit changed here
Dude, Wrack is FINE. It doesn't take much for it, with shackles it's somewhat on par with the Celestine skill.
And I have to say, I don't really mind it. Yes, a few of Celests skills are a bit much (like currents and whirlpool preventing all means of escaping out of a demesne), but hey, that's what envoys are there for. Sure, the Necro kills newbies, but so what. It didn't follow me when -I- tried to kill it, and it doesn't hit that hard, either.
*shrug* Things will change again, not worth it to make such a hissy-fit about it.
(And if you want some change, go play Rome:Total War and crush some germans. It helps. A lot. )

You get killed for bowing?? What're you supposed to do?
Thats what happened to one of my Mag alts. Ashtorath was just being angry and he killed him on the spot, and he kneeled. I remember him saying, 'you... you... how dare.... argh!!' *kills me*
Mind you it fits the sort of twisted nature I think Magnagoran has.
Reiha2006-10-06 14:47:40
I don't mind the dying part, and if I remember correctly the cults tell their members to always put vitae up. And novices usually aren't ready to pact. The biggest pain is losing deffs.
Ashteru2006-10-06 14:48:19
Well, you actually really get killed for pacting or wanting to go to Luci. Only save way is Nifilhema, since she only does like 500 bleeding.
@Lightzout: I can't wait for Medieval 2. I just saw the System reqs, and I might get it to run! Soo great.
And if you have Barbarian Invasion too, play the normal Rome first. BI is a lot harder, but much more fun, actually.
And click here to find out how you can unlock ALL factions, even the unplayable ones, in any version above 1.3. It adds another few factions, and some of them are really great to play. ^^

Nice job indeed, and a nice high point for me to leave at. It's about time Celest was allowed to grief Magnagora back after the years they spent beating us down.
It's ruining our playerbase? They have better skills than us? The same way that Celest (including myself) was whining years back when we were getting our butts kicked. It's all down to us having more players, being able to kick more ass, and people wanting to join the winning side. Mag had their high, Celest now has it, don't be surprised to see that go again in a few years time.
(Note: you're allowed to be surprised if Glom gets the high )

Whomever said Nerf Communes..
Some of us would love to have the Commune equilivant of the DL/Supernal thing. Some of us wouldnt. We -have- asked. That would bring us a bit more closer to the pains of the cities.
Go Glom, you gotta make it to the top at some point.

You'll probably have to offer people a good enough reason to give up rank/some friends/and that the lesson loss is originally worth it.

What's up with this Ildar is inactive thing? I'm not inactive, in fact I'm usually around every day. I think Reiha and Ildaudid are out to slander my good name again.
As for the idea of trading commodities for peace, I wouldn't be surprised if Celest has a lot more than they let on, and just let 500 be available for sale at any one time. But I'll tell you what, I think we can dig up 6000 milk that we'll trade you to lay of for a while

Yeah.. there needs to be a restoration of constant loss from losing an Avatar. Right now, it doesn't matter much in comparison. The Flame for Serenwilde is not going to fall.

You're saying this to someone who has been the top ranks in Magnagora for almost ever and two different champions at various points and now...
Kaervas is a rotten egg in the Blacktalon.
...does it really matter if he can give that up? XD
GR19, CR6, yea, I think I lost just the same
Lesson loss though is a pain I don't like it, but it does deter guild hoppers.... YES YOU HEAR ME Soll... Ashteru and well.... phooey.

So in the end everyone is a hypocrite. This is the problem right here. No one should be "allowed" to grief -anyone-. Everyone seems to forget that not everyone in Magnagora went around "griefing" Celest 24/7, and visa versa.
I think the problem might also be that now Celest has this idea that because they've been on the losing end they're allowed to grief and do whatever the hell they want, kill as many things as they want as constantly as they'd like to because "it's happened to them for a long time."
I'm not whining for you guys to stop, in fact I wouldn't want you to because it makes sense and it is all fair, but I don't think that just because you (that's a general you) were losing before gives you the right to stomp all over everything and then point back and say, "You did it first." Stop trying to blame what people did in the past for what you do now.

sorry but complaining about dying due to pacts is extremely stupid, if you have even a little sense you will realise that you do not need to, to make your pacts, my new nihilist alt didnt even get scratched

Edit: I'm glad that the Necromente was fixed to not kill novices. As for the fact that the Star doesn't kill people when it falls, you have to look at the RP of each city. It doesn't make sense for it to do so.
I would make it so that if the star falls, metal demons attacked you, and if the necromante fell, angels attacked us, but not novices on either side

Whining? I am proud you all got the necromante down, I was complaining about the metal beings killing novices, which COULD put a negative thought in those fresh out of the portal. Skillwise... we all know whirlpool and currents are insane, all you have to do is meld and put those up and no one can come in a group to attack back, add that with barrier... thats a win win right there

Okay, so technically maybe not. But the implication was there.
Although I'm not sure where the idea cam that I can hold my own came from. Maybe in group combat...
On the other hand, I've almost got my autosipper set up. I really need to stop tying to design and tweak the framework before putting in parts of the system.
