Hmm. Just thought this topic deserved a bump.
Kharaen2006-10-22 19:03:57
I added a couple afflictions. I'm not a fighter, so I could be wrong about a few of them though.
Sylphas2006-10-22 19:07:10
Was kind of hoping we'd get 24 hours before Wildarrane went up.

Psh. Wildarrane is the best of the 3 so far. Wildarrane Ecologists = pwnage.

Really? From just the AB lists Wildarrane doesn't look that hot. Necroscream's pretty nice looking though.
Sylphas2006-10-22 21:26:48
I'm really waiting for the Illusions changes. Right now Tarot gets tons of love (Hyperactive and Springup are almost worthless for non-Tarot bards), and Ecologists get tons of synergy. Illusions is just tacked on.

At the moment, Wildarrane is worthless. I don't see how you can say that. Especially against dreamweavers... ugh. Hopefully a few bug fixes and envoy minireports will fix that.

Its actually the most viable in the current state, because you can berserk to stack sleep even if they're deaf to start (via sensitivity). But that comment was more in line with what they'll be capable of once bards in general are fixed.
Shryke2006-10-23 22:12:14
Fallen/Kamilah, I have to disagree. A bard being able to put someone to sleep isn't going to help much, since they have so little offense anyway. Nobody is going to sleep long enough for them to get their instakill off, and is anyone going to die to manabarbs plus desert? Really, what combo's do they have? Pretty much nothing IMO.

You can disagree, but I disagree with you right back. Passing out is a pretty hefty liability.

Ok! It's been requested that we add as many afflictions as possible to the wiki to compile a system builder resource, but I've only just scratched the surface (with prior help from Kharaen).
If you'd like to contribute, add affliction/diagnosis/cure messages to The Afflictions list or correct any mistakes you see!
Also, the Starhymn skillset is now up and available forenvying perusal!

A lot of public forging designs are also listed.
Masterwork weapons, fullplate, fieldplate, greathelms and greatshields will soon not only have lists but their description and details as well.

Am I the only one that terrified of the fact that there is a sexuality section under aslarans. *goes back to inspecting sections*
Gwylifar2006-11-06 20:38:28
No. But it's okay, no one's reading it.
Hiriako2006-11-06 21:07:03
*eyeshift* I read it. But I also seem to remember seeing it a long time ago when you played too, Gwyl.

I did! It's an amazing amount of work! I'm so totally impressed!
Kaileigh2006-11-07 00:28:47
I'm sorry I guess I see too much crazy furry people on the internet and the word "yiff" came to my head and I cried inside.
Gwylifar2006-11-07 03:38:43
I have decided not to ask you what "yiff" is.
I just don't see how simulating a race in a world that has an interesting and unique origin for said race is kooky. Is it kooky to simulate a medieval economy because there's a whole class of people insane enough to stand around in a room in New York in glaring yellow jackets waving pieces of paper around? Is it kooky to simulate someone willing to go kill people to defend an imaginary part of an imaginary plane just because there's some people in Southeast Asia planning to kill people to defend land?
Why, for that matter, is it any more kooky to figure out how a race mates than it is to figure out how they eat, how they speak, how they worship, or how they fight? It makes me sad how we're happy to spend thousands of pages detailing how imaginary races murder and eviscerate each other in cold blood, but if someone spends two pages wondering how they make babies or give each other pleasure, stop that man, he's doing naughty scary bad things, he must be stopped! I'm embarassed for my whole culture.
The mere presence of crazy people doing something tangentially similar should be no counterargument. You wouldn't believe the number of crazy people on the Internet who post articles in threads with strange pictures next to their assumed names. I don't hold it against you.
Of course, I learned a long time ago Lusternia isn't the place to do all this, though.

Because sexuality is intensely personal, and it can easily feel that you're forcing your ideas of it on every Aslaran, and people will resent that, whether or not you really are.
