Yeah alot of that stuff is really specific and my aslaran is pretty much the opposite of anything you wrote. You're not figuring out how something works you're putting out how you think they should be. It's like telling someone they can't make a mermaid the way they want because it's not the right way. Sure my Aslaran should probably not look the way she was, but I wanted her to look that way. I want her to be a pacifist that likes to chase cows and make friends on the highway.

Plus, Duh man there are no babies. Adults get chucked out of a hole and get adopted.

There is a single baby in stewartsville! There are also some below age 16 tae'dae in estelbar tongue.gif

...though they've been that age for around 90 years now. unsure.gif

Bloody well done Gwylifar. A really good read.

P.S I don't understand why people require that article to be definitive. There are always going to be exceptions or different viewpoints. Diversity is interesting, and it's always nice to know what other people are doing with their characters.
Gwylifar2006-11-07 21:22:47
Bah, every time I write on this forum about the paradox of developing a unique and meaningful and interesting racial culture without contradicting anything anyone ever might think of, versus the whole wishy-washy everyone-is-the-same approach that doesn't offend anyone at the cost of making the whole process pointless, no one continues to participate in the discussion. So I'll just have to instead say, tough noogies. Particularly since all this died soon after all the active participants in the development left or were driven off, so it's entirely moot.

Can someone update the Crow and the Night files to include the ab description of each skill please?

Bumping for useful information.

Just necro-ing this really quick.

I noticed a couple people still asking for God descriptions. Well, don't forget! The Scrying Pool is collecting every bit for your artistic and literary needs, or for those of us who just want to 'ooh' and 'aah' at their amazing descriptions.

Elostian, the Engima has been recently added, along with pieces of the new Viravain.

If any of you want to help, I am looking for descriptions of certain gods (Check their sections to see who I need) along with things like - the world emote when they appear, enter/exit messages, clothing, shrines, LOOK appearances. Just send all that information to me in a PM or send it to my talk page on the wiki.

Thanks! biggrin.gif

Where did it go? I'm getting messages that the server can't be found.

It should be back up now. Elryn's hosting service looks like it was down for a few hours.

Would love if people would keep adding to the afflictions of Lusteria.

Would also love if Traders would start posting what's available for the city/commune designs, as well as public that might not be available. Wouldn't mind if people set it up like how I do, or at least include commodities.

Also, more people should visit the Scrying Pool.

I'd so add Epicure's designs and possibly my private cartel once I actually get some recipes accepted... if I actually knew how to add them. Never fiddled with something like this before.

Some people might wanna, y'know, find this out IC.

Just a thought.

I'm happy with some of the other articles, but using the Scrying Pool for that is just...irksome. Lazy.

I agree with Hazar, if someone has the energy to keep an ooc resource updates they have the energy to get a book and keep everything ic. Rather than having people... metagame?, turn up to someone with a tradeskill and asking for a design that their character has no way of knowing exists with the comms required.

i wish it had just stayed as a resource for ideas and the like, not a way to spread knowledge easily gained icly

EDIT: Just looked... wtf, design sketches have been posted?

I don't see any problem at all with posting details about public designs. Private ones though are a different matter altogether.

So you are ok with someone fresh from the portals being able to walk up to a member of a cartel and request a specific design with the comms in hand? Atleast if it were in a book it's ic, if the wiki just referenced the appearance lines there is still some requirement to actually speak to someone about the design and acquire the information.

hmm, I think I'm going to start asking people where they found out about the designs if they do something like that and scream insanity if they can't give me a good answer.

Absolutely. That sort of thing happens all the time with so many other aspects of the game already. A Nihilist novice fresh from the Portal can already enter one command and know who I'm married to, what title I go by, how old I am, what my birthday is, and a lot more.

Its easier to assume things like public designs are so common that anyone could know details about them without having to first find another player.

Honours is odd enough, though things like families seem to be kept as public records. However do keep in mind that your honours is still not completely public, there are things that that novice still could not find out without directly asking you.
and
How so, no matter how hard you try you can not find those records unless a player decides to make them public (remember there is design information there that another artisan couldn't find out).
