How's everybody enjoying the scavenger hunt so far?
Unknown2006-10-07 23:31:56
Um, not in the least. This is in fact the opposite of fun. sad.gif

Still, I appreciate the admin trying with the event. Kind of pointless though since apparently I've missed something about all the bubbles. I was hoping it would be aetherspace hunting. Congratulations to whoever wins - you've studied these places far more than I seem to be able to.

Edit: And that's not fair to Morgfyre, its a wonderful idea... and maybe the people who know what they're supposed to be doing are having fun.
Genos2006-10-07 23:32:51
Not enjoying it at all, thought it would be something different.
Caffrey2006-10-07 23:35:12
heh, I've given up, I couldn't even find the icicle even though I'm pretty sure I got to the bubble before anyone tongue.gif
Got killed 3 times too, although I guess stopping to ask some other people on the Hunt if anyone had found the icicle was a stoopid idea on my part tongue.gif
Unknown2006-10-07 23:36:48
We couldn't find any icicles. Spent at least half an hour looking for it though.
Reiha2006-10-07 23:38:06
I liked hanging around Rosalinn, Richter, Inky, and Tully - a good chance to interact with people I normally don't on a daily basis. I got a little peeved at dying so much, since I have yet to regain all my experience back and keep on losing it everyday :/
Unknown2006-10-07 23:38:29
I'm having a little fun...though I'm stuck in Richter's boat and we had such a small crew...we got the icicle...

Maybe in a week or two I'll propose my "Hunt the Tully" idea which might be more fun. The only bad thing about Aetherspace is it's spammy, at lease for me.

If only we had more people who coulda committed.
Diamondais2006-10-07 23:38:52
Me and Flacarealah got lost in the Aetherspace. Finally made it to Frosticia, cant find any icicles and sure doesnt help almost all of the denizens are dead.

How?
Caffrey2006-10-07 23:43:39
After making my way to the bubble for a third time and still not finding anything, I gave up. Guess I'm going to have to take a better look at these bubbles later! Aetherspace was looking more like a seriously overcrowded zoo... I'm not looking foward to trying to run through that lot of aethercritters.

As far as I can tell, there is only one of each item. That's not a good way to run a scavenger hunt. One group gets the first item and books it out of there. The next group gets there seconds later, looks around for half an hour, finds nothing, even if they did have the right idea. It's just a game of "Whomever gets the first item first wins."

Umm, what then?

Don't say "You could just stop them on their way out" because that's not true at all with cloaking cubes and flashpoints.

Also, I've spent a LOT of time on Crumkindivia and never once found a candy cane. sad.gif
Shamarah2006-10-08 00:04:08
I'm having fun. And the items are there.
Diamondais2006-10-08 00:05:19
Heard the POetry conclusion is happening so me and Flaca are heading back. sad.gif We were enjoying Frosticia! For the most part.

Wrong, proof of you being wrong is the fact multiple people have the items.
Unknown2006-10-08 00:07:38
I think they're gonna wait until the hunt is over.
Richter2006-10-08 00:26:53
That was the hardest thing we've had to do in the last two years, most of it was agonizing, but still somewhat fun. I've never been to those places, though Elryn's map helped me find them.

My flashpoint back to the peak helped a lot, glad we could use those.

I spent an hour in Crumkindiva and died four times, got enemied to two organizations, had more than half my crew leave me midway, and still was never able to find the second item. sad.gif

I hate to outright say I disliked this event (I didn't, I had what I felt was a good time during it), but I am extremely disappointed with how it was handled by the administration. Shamarah used hermits mid-way through to quickly return to Prime to hand in our items. He asked if it was ok - guess what, we were told not to do it anymore because we weren't flying our ship directly there. It wasn't fair.

YET people were still allowed to use flashpoints. That's lame. It is like have a race to the Node on Scorpio from Prime when you opponent is a Shadowdancer Astrology with Astrolgide or has a cubix or whatever. Flashpoints provided a ridiculous, unfair advantage, yet other methods that gave leverage were declared illegal.

Either provide FAIR rules that put everyone on equal ground OR allow anything (as was the actual rule before being changed mid-way).

Actually, it makes sense because the spirit of the game was to use aetherspace skills. It's not the teleportation that mattered, but the skillsets. It was meant to be a game primarily for those who are skilled in aethercraft.

At least, as far as I think.
Ixion2006-10-08 00:40:13
First off, I thoroughly enjoyed the aethership hunt. It was highly stressful, and massively chaotic as I assume was intended.

However, Morgfyre really needed to lay down ground rules. We were told that we could not hermit, yet Elryn could use flashpoints, despite the fact that we were indeed ahead of them. Flash points makes sense being that it's a skill in aethercraft, but such should have been explicitly mentioned beforehand.

"Forren" drove faster than any other captain, by far. I'm here with Forren right now, and I have to say I feel bad for the guy- their crew got gyped. That's all I'll say for right now, as my head is throbbing from driving Forren everywhere in that darn aethership!!

Edit: Narsrim, of course you had a great job.. I did all the work driving you buggers everywhere smile.gif

I also could have whistled us instantly back to the dock, but we flew from south Astral back to the rift. Not that I disagree the whole thing was crazy, but its not like you wouldn't have used distribution like we did to speed up. Which is also 'cheating'.
