can you put a 150 credit rune on the 500 gold lutes from Bob, and never have to worry about your weapon again?

I don't see why not, given that you'd then have to spend another 50 credits to customize it.. and in the grand scheme of things, 10k gold isn't much compared to 200 credits.
Daganev2006-10-11 23:55:02
10K gold every 120 days? plus the time to make youre weapon max. sounds like a bargain to me.
Sylphas2006-10-11 23:56:50
I'm very tempted to rune my mandolin as soon as I go bard. But then I wouldn't have nearly as many skills. sad.gif I suppose I have 120 days to get 150 credits, shouldn't be too bad.

You asked if you could put a rune on the 500 gold instrument. I meant that it doesn't matter if you put it on the 500 gold or 10k instrument, because in the end, that gold is a drop in the bucket when it comes to all the credits.
Daganev2006-10-12 00:00:34
Ahh, I was more thinking about the 500 gold going to bob vs the 10K going to the artisans. I know that as a blacksmith, I would be mad if the swords bob sold could get artifacts on them, making them perfect.

But Bob only sells lutes. A lot of people want different instruments. So I doubt it will be that common.
Sylphas2006-10-12 00:07:06
Lutes are uglier than Igasho. sleep.gif

50 credits can make it look like anything you want. *shrug* If I was a bard , I would do it.

Because apparently you're a hypocrite tongue.gif

You guys make me very depressed. 10k instruments actually make negative profits right now. How are artisans supposed to make profits when the realms want them to charge at less then cost? sad.gif

10k is the cost of comms + a service charge. Don't see how that equates to negative profit.

Wha?

If its possible to do it, why cheat yourself?

Seems, like it would be better if artisans didn't get shafted again. (i.e. they make thier most money from people willing to spend a lot)

You said you'd hate if it was done to you. To say you would do it to someone else makes you a hypocrite.

And not many people are going to do that, dag, believe me.

You're acting as if everyone will have artied instruments, which is silly.

I'd like to know where you're getting your wood...so I can pillage the place >.>

Wood is 90g (cheapest at Serenwilde Trade, 120 at Magnagora), to 126-135+ in village shops. Rope is 16 gold, silk is 100-150, gold 130-175.

Comms for a normal lute or mandolin: 90 wood, 10 rope.
Wood at its priciest: 12510, Rope: 160
Base cost without service charge: 12670

Comms for lyre: 80 wood, 10 rope, 10 gold
10800, 160, 1750
12710

Comms for viola: 90 wood, 10 silk
12510, 1500
14010

Base costs are well above 10k, with no service charge. So tell me where you get your wood so I can robe the place.
Unknown2006-10-12 00:43:43
er.. 90 wood at 90 per = 8100
10 silk at 110 = 1100
Add that up, you get 9200 base cost.

It's kind of annoying that you didn't bother looking at the other prices. Wood is always sold out at the Trader. That leaves the villages. EVEN if the base cost were that cheap, why would an Artisan whore their abilities like that? You don't offer such low turnovers for such a rare commodity, otherwise you have people buying out the market to make a few cheap bucks. Which results in the hellish prices wood is at right now. I hate it that people want to crap on Artisans right now, when they finally got something to actually make a living. Cheap bastards.

You know what's funny, is that I didn't come up with the price, the artisan did.

I brought the commodities, he charged me 500.

Why is that my fault? I paid roughly 10k for my instrument, so I talk about instruments as costing 10k. Chill.

It's not your fault, And I'm sorry for clawing your eyes out If I want to stab anyone in the eye, it should be Daganev for his 'nobody buy artisan instruments, get the rune and Bob instruments' idea. Wood wouldn't be so pricy right now if people weren't buying it all out sad.gif I'm missing the 37-90 gold wood days in Estelbar, but that's impossible right now sad.gif

That people are complaining about 10k+ for instruments is even more so depressing...greatrobes are cheaper to make and sold for more...
Unknown2006-10-12 01:06:23
I personally think artisans should sell them for more, personally.
