Bring it on.

Don't worry, Joli. Once Aia gets contested, things will look alot brighter for the Cacophony

That's mean.
Edit: And Thank You Soll for saying exactly why it's so mean. I completely agree and feel the same way. I was just worried I might say something I shouldn't so I just settled for 'That's mean.'

You know, I find it really insulting to the guildmasters to hear that people plan on contesting for the position so soon after the guild's creation. They've been the ones doing a massive amount of work to create the guild, and then someone just wants to come along and run it, as if the guild just popped up out of nowhere.
The people whose poems won have, and will have to, put so much of their time and effort towards creating the guild initially(most of the stuff they do will be things you don't necessarily see). Estarra and the Admin have pulled them all away countless times to make sure they have the know-how. They've had to do naming, scrolls, guildranks, dealing with people question's 24/7, all the stuff that would numb most minds halfway to somewhere-horrible and back, as well as write the poem that won. That comment was really low, in my eyes, and it makes me sad that people are encouraging such to occur. I can stand up and say, with very little doubt, that the winners of the contest have put 110% of their effort towards the creation of the guild. Don't just try and slip your hand under the table to take it away.

It's called politics, Soll. It's underhanded, dirty, cheap, unfair and by no means is anyone "entitled" to their position regardless of the work they do. It's called life, dear Soll. If Aia loses her GM status because people don't want her to be GM, there's nothing anyone can do about it.

I'm tired of people idling or making triggers to raise aptitude. I KNOW YOU'RE DOING IT. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. Seriously, don't be so idiotic to think no one is going to not notice someone in the room with them singing over and over for about an hour... and I'm going to notice that someone has been logged on for several hours and doesn't speak when spoken to. It really pisses me off that people are abusing this when it's only been out for.. maybe 2 days for Magnagora.
Not sure how this is abuse, annoying maybe, but they're free to make triggers for this, aren't they?
As for the contestion, people are free to do so, but they won't be allowed to until GR5 anyway. Although the game doesn't prevent you from being GM when you're GR1-GR4 *cough* *eyeshift* People who are saying that to her face probably won't see a favour any time soon, anyhow
And from what I saw, it seemed like a few people didn't have to put up with novicehood (right after the guild's creation) and were able to learn their skills past adept/master (whatever it is), hence the other novices asking. If you don't want people asking for special treatment, don't give it to others?

I'm sure Raflein will do a marvelous job.

Stay far, far away from him!

God dammit peple, the guild's been open like two days, give her some goddamn time. Politics is ofttimes nasty, but it doesn't automatically make you a loathsome son of a bitch. Contesting now is just ridiculous. Let them do all the work of making the guild, then swoop in and contest? If it were me, you'd be outguilded so goddamn fast you wouldn't know what hit you.

ranting
Look, when that guild started, I saw Verithrax, Stagar, Aia, Ryanne and you learning skills. I am not sure if you had to wait out 24 hours of novicehood. But like it was stated. If you think that when a select group of people or friends get special treatment and the rest have to sit back and wait it out.... well how do you think people are going to feel about the GM, about you and about the others?? I don't see how any of you are so much more special than any other player that you get swooped through novicehood and have to make the rest wait. I would say deal with people hounding you all.... and unfortunately, what Revan said was mean... but when people see this happening and a guild that just came out has become elitist, I am sure someone will probably contest the GM to try and straighten things out... what you all have been doing is a sure fire way to MAKE people want to contest you...
And Joli, this is not directed solely at you. It is directed to all the bards who think it is ok for them to be rushed through novice hood then bitch when others ask....
Sylphas2006-10-16 18:20:21
Uh... Verithrax is most definitely not Aia's friend.

Ah, maybe not, but special treatment for some and not all, does not a good guild make. (I should make a Yoda banner like Shammy's too for that)

Wow..I'm so happy to be a Harbinger right now. We had none of those problems.
Only problems we've had so far are from the Shadowdancers.. nothing internal We had our guild on its feet and open within two days because everyone pulled together and worked together. Its really sad to see that people are taking advantage of the new guild in Mag.
As for insane nerfing, I won't let that happen via envoys until the Nil sprouts daisies. The fact is, most people just don't know how to cure it. They are screaming about attraction, when really, attraction is a joke. Those sort of people can be ignored, because once they do figure it out, they'll be the ones saying how much bards suck and how godly they are for being able to beat them.

Maybe the people who got advanced got advanced cause they're going to help. Be secs and undersecs and help write up files and so on, not cause they're 'favorites' but cause they've agreed to do work. Obviously they can't advance everyone for this reason... A guild only needs so many secs, undersecs, etc.
I dunno. That's speculation. But, just as valid speculation as saying folks are playing favorites, isn't it?

Not Magnagora, the Nihilists are.

I didn't see Stagar and Iblis listed as undersecs or secs, although I am sure Verithrax is helping out a lot as well as Joli.

When a new guild and new archetypes come in, there have to be a few people to start it. Pretty much Morgfyre and Aia picked the team to form it. Complaining about that is like complaining people were able to graduate their novicehood during open beta.
