Maybe the people who got advanced got advanced cause they're going to help. Be secs and undersecs and help write up files and so on, not cause they're 'favorites' but cause they've agreed to do work. Obviously they can't advance everyone for this reason... A guild only needs so many secs, undersecs, etc.

I dunno. That's speculation. But, just as valid speculation as saying folks are playing favorites, isn't it?

You would have to know the people more Noola, that and like Fallen said, working together would be a nice thing for them, why not pass them past novicehood, the only people who are allowed to join are non-novs from other guilds anyways. And if you think about it, why not let these people past novicehood so they can HELP test the cacophony skills, to help find bugs, fix things and the like.

The novice part is to keep people from learning past master, it almost feels like some people don't want others to learn before them. I dunno. That's speculation too.

Either way, on a side note:

I wub.gif you Noola, come to the Kalas, we have cookies laugh.gif and Ixion will wear an apron. cool.gif

QUOTE(Phred @ Oct 16 2006, 02:37 PM) 343347

When a new guild and new archetypes come in, there have to be a few people to start it. Pretty much Morgfyre and Aia picked the team to form it. Complaining about that is like complaining people were able to graduate their novicehood during open beta.

That sounds all pretty and such, but the team of few seems to grow with friends day by day. Would you think if I won a Library Guild, and selected Ixion, Geb, Daevos and Diamante to pass through novicehood and "form" it, and that they would only let in their buddies to pass novicehood, that it would not seem a little elitist to you? huh.gif

And why is it that we have these problems and Fallen so clearly stated that Glom had no problems, that they all pulled through it fine?
Verithrax2006-10-16 19:00:20
The Cacophony has estabilished already a method (Easy as pie, too) of passing through novicehood.

Additionally, rumours of our guild's failure to function have been immensely exaggerated.

!!! When I cook I definately do not wear an apron. I can cook rather well, so ta. Now when you come down to execute "Project PinEye Forren" you will get no homecooked food. Suffer!

Y'know why those people were passed through novicehood? Because they were there the instant the guild formed and were there helping FORM THE DAMN THING.

I had to wait quite a long while to get inducted and then just to get out of novicehood. The only reason I got promoted was because I was writing the novice scroll and personally helping Aia.

Edit: And how is it not abuse to set a trigger so that you're constantly doing something so you don't log out? People have gotten shrubbed for that.

Not sure how this is abuse, annoying maybe, but they're free to make triggers for this, aren't they? unsure.gif

If it's abuse to automate getting xp or gold, it's darn well abuse to automate raising your aptitude at an instrument, which makes you more powerful.

Nah, that's not abuse. Forging triggers and rune/tarot inscription triggers aren't.

Also it circles back around to the rule in Lusternia of not being allowed to be AFK. At all. They're very firm about that.

The Harbingers DID have the same problems. I'm sure Nirrti will attest. I'm still hoping things will settle down now that there is a new guild for the alt revolution to flock to.

Good luck! smile.gif

roflmao.gif I saw Ryanne stomp Revan just a little while ago hehe yeah wonder what happened there, but actually will have to wait and see all the skills, etc that they can do....

Oh and to whoever wrote in Cacophony (ghelp notes) that your advancement breezes you through. I was sent it from a girl I know. So 5 hours off is breezing you through? In the Guard you pass basic training you are out, In the Paladins, you can get 15 hours knocked off at least by having some herbs and vials. So I wouldnt say writing a song to lose 5 hours of grad time is a real breeze through novicehood.... unsure.gif
