Oh and to whoever wrote in Cacophony (ghelp notes) that your advancement breezes you through. I was sent it from a girl I know. So 5 hours off is breezing you through? In the Guard you pass basic training you are out, In the Paladins, you can get 15 hours knocked off at least by having some herbs and vials. So I wouldnt say writing a song to lose 5 hours of grad time is a real breeze through novicehood....
Verithrax had a stupid moment.
Edit: No I outguilded someone else.

The situation for the Harbingers was pretty different, because we took far fewer established characters from other guilds. Glom's population is pretty small, and I actively discouraged some people from switching because I didn't think their guilds could spare them. I promoted all the people I initially inducted out of novicehood, and practically everyone else we got was a freshman novice (or long-dormant alt). We gave out advancements to people who asked so long as they had some reasonable-sounding things (having a good instrument, greatrobes, etc...) ahead of having a real advancement scroll. But the combination of these things meant that we had problems neither with power-grabs, nor with people wanting to graduate faster and feeling held back.
I'm... pleasantly surprised by how many people we've kept so far. Here's hoping.

Actually sounds like you did a great job handling that, the only problem I noticed when you all got your bards was the giant influx of them and when a revolt happened, the sudden dissappearence of them all back to their city/communes... that was kinda weak

I was wondering about Celest's tone, actually. I could see an argument for orchestral symphonies, but maybe they should have a hip-hop underground in their urban ghettos, too.
Oh, right, they don't have ghettos, they're a utopia. Free ice cream for everyone!

Yes, I am curious, too. Merkada's RP is set up to potenially join, given the right type of tone. *ponder*

What statistics seem to be important for bards? And do they work on equilibrium, or balance?
Sylphas2006-10-19 20:30:26
Equilibrium, except for Tarot. Attack uses ego and mana. Not sure any has tested yet whether it's based on intelligence or charisma, but everything else with magic source uses intelligence. Acrobatics buffs dexterity, Music buffs charisma.
So until I hear otherwise, I'm going to assume dexterity, charisma, intelligence, and constitution. Intelligence may or may not drop from that list.

Their attack is INT based.
Shorlen2006-10-19 22:11:56
Acrobatics buffs dex, but does dex actually... ya know, do anything?
Shamarah2006-10-19 22:13:49
One would assume it affects how much bards dodge.
