Do they get to choose Lowmagic or Highmagic?
Narsrim2006-10-08 04:41:05
Now if Bards can choose Lowmagic and take Herbs... I may actually switch.

I'd guess they'd have the choice just like warriors, since even Commune bards have the choice of Illusions, and warriors can take high magic with hunting just fine.

Edit: Plus, High Magic gives a charisma boost tongue.gif

I'm tempted to trade in my Gloves for lessons. Having to choose Highmagic would make it a simpler choice.
Narsrim2006-10-08 04:43:43
And Lowmagic has Serpent.

I hope Acrobatics has Evade.. I love that from Achaea, since it lets you move into rooms with totems without activating them.

Viola's not bad, but hoping to see violins at some point.

Then people can say "Stop the violins!" laugh.gif (Corny joke (saying it aloud can sound like "stop the violence") from high school, a trumpet-player made it up, not me. I played a violin smile.gif )

There's definitely a different feel between a violin and viola. Now I'm getting nostalgic for high school when I played every day in orchestra. mellow.gif
Nementh2006-10-08 06:22:32
Viola is the better choice. I imagine there will be a lot more 'solo' performances then group, and viola has a wider range then violin, making it a little more useful for solo performances. Hehe....
Unknown2006-10-08 06:24:43
Fiddler on the Roof anyone? Violins all the way baby! spoton.gif

There is no such thing as a viola solo. sad.gif

There's not that much of a difference. To quote the Viola's Wiki article:
QUOTE

The casual observer may mistake the viola for the violin because of their similarity in size, closeness in pitch range (a mere perfect fifth separates the two), and identical playing position (both rest on the left shoulder). However, the viola's timbre sets it apart: its rich sonority is more full-bodied than the violin's, dark-toned and earthy. As its mellow voice is frequently used for playing inner harmonies, the viola does not enjoy the wide solo repertoire or fame of the violin.

Yes, having played violin regularly from 3rd grade to 12th grade, I'm probably a bit of a violin snob even though I haven't played regularly for the past 6-7 years since then. wink.gif There is a different feel and different perception/association with each, which is why I'd like to see each become an option.
Joli2006-10-08 07:00:25
Oh man.. This is awesome.. and it somehow magicly fits Joli's rp plot right now.. happy.gif Whee, I'm happy.

And I'm so choosing Illusions over Tarot. I'm glad I only have to wait a week.

The best part of this, actually, is that it's going to Aia. I'm glad she stuck around through all the crap she's gone through, with this character and her previous ones. wub.gif

Think it hit some of us in Serenwilde because of a bug, but that knocking off-balance is pretty damn nice. And it's a hilarious way to achieve it, I love it!
