You're not reading the thread.
The idea is that robes give hardly any protection at all on their own. Almost all armour would come from, surprisingly, armour.

I still don't not see problems with that.
Then bards get would be buffed beyond others.
Edit:Unless armor will stay as-is and robes would be reduced, in which case wiccan's would be screwed, cause we too can only wear leather.

Anyway, what abount another Splendor pattern? Something more appropriate for bards?
