Wait, I thought you were kidding, you seriously think it was rigged?
Shh Shamarah. Do not let them know that we hacked server.

A number was randomly generated. Sham had the number. It's that simple.
Unknown2006-10-09 19:43:55
When you say randomly generated, you mean thought up by one of the admins? Randomly generated using what!

No no its called hacking!
You just need to change variables there, like for:
#random (@ekards_ticket, @ekards_ticket)
same for Shamarah and here we have winners

I heard how it was going to be generated using the CryptGenRandom function and the radioactive decay of Roark's coffee, but he drank it all before the draw So they used the eeny-meeny-miney-mo, catch-an-elephant-by-its-toe, song instead
Richter2006-10-09 20:49:39
I figure I have something around a quarter of the tickets in the lottery (or, at least I did at one point), but as I was explaining to someone else, that still means I had a 3/4 chance to get absolutely nothing. Nevermind the fact that my odds were better than everyone else's, my personal odds were still terrible. *shrug*

How the hell did Shamarah win something? What a griefer...

People who think things like that are actually random make me want to punch them in the face. By the time you're in high school, you've got more than enough math to just say, "Oh, it's that one."

Plus there's 80000000000000024 different things you can add to the end if you feel like it if you don't like what you land on

I bought over a hundred tickets and you bought how many? *sigh*
Saran2006-10-10 02:39:49
hehe the random number thing reminded me of class.
We were writing c code and our random number was always 42 (for obvious reasons). You could call conspiracy stating that it's not a randomly generated number but a number generated based off a variable which the contestant could possibly predict/cause?
Oh damn I'm bored

For all we know, they just used dice. Rolled a d20, looked at that slice of the ticket pool (if you sold 100 tickets and rolled a 4, look at 16-20), and keep that up until you've narrowed it down. Or you could just use an algorithm that's random enough. Seeding with system time before you roll is usually enough, since no one can guess the second they'll roll for the winner.

I wonder if Harpuia's artifact is an artifact Harp which could be used in the bards?

That'd be horribly disappointing...
