The gnome comms are probably going to be used in aetherquests, if at all. It makes sense (and is less complicated for everyone) to keep aether stuff in aetherspace and Prime stuff on Prime.

Can you jettison your holds? After all, you never know when you'll run into an Imperial blockade.
I can see it now, the gnome Aetherdestroyer slowly moving into view with dramatic music playing.
Isluna2006-10-18 12:46:13
If you have to you can trade back to the same ship, managed to do that a few days ago, and really don't know if someone said that already.
Oh, if anyone around at this time can, Isluna is sort of stuck on Crumkindivia. I really hate my computer at times...
Edit: Thank you Avaerin-her crew for thinking of me. Thanks Felandi for the lone flying to come get me.
Any other MUSHclient users having screen lock when aetherhunting? I have noticed that I get that alot now, the screen just scroll locks and doesn't move till the ship is docked, then people have to wait on me. Tried the min running progies, restarts, all that good muck, wondering if its the beast I call a computer though...

We were literally on the other side of Aetherspace - we started heading right for you the moment Laysus found out you were stuck there, and Felandi still made it to the bubble faster

Yay, Felandi for rescuing Isluna!
Yay, Avaerin for trying!
Thwap computer of Isluna for cutting out like that.
Yay, Tully, for springing for a hold artifact for the Aurora.
And yay, Estarra and company, for this wonderful new option. So far I've only traded with the Facility Hammer, and that's proved far from the most efficient way to make gold (splitting the gold four ways, we could have done far better by weeviling), but I'm hopeful that practice and learning the aetherways will eventually turn this into more than a fun diversion.

I'm finding it's less gold than questwhoring, but vastly more fun We generally make about 5,000 per person per hour.

Its fun! Flacarealah took Yini and me up there. Actually, its just going up there being in a ship with people you like being with and shooting at monsters.

You're welcome
And I do love this, it's immensely fun, but can be a bit hard to find ships for decent deals. Also it's turning out with a good empath who can boost turret power to be more efficient with 1 gunner than 3 so the money gets split less ways with no real impact on hunting speed.
Shorlen2006-10-19 14:40:19
For best results, the following is needed:
Mythical Comamnder (up to Fusion)
Gifted Empath (up to Distribution)
Master Combateer (up to Turret)
Ship with: Chair, Grid, 3 Turrets, 1 Shield orb, 1 Hold
Use distribution to power down two turrets and the orb, and power up the chair, the grid, and the manned turret.
Use flashpoints+fusion to return home fast, and to go to where you know a trading vessel is.
Use Farhorizon to find trading vessels, and Slink to avoid encounters while trading.

I've spent more time trying to find a stupid gnome ship than I spent hunting creatures. Meh.

I've found six total, but three have vanished forever. It's like, every time I find a new gnome ship, one of the ones I could find easily before is now just gone. It's so irritating

How many people have actually become Combateers rather than Emapth/Commander?

I know of as many combateers as empaths and commanders.

They don't "vanish" or "teleport", they actually fly around their sectors.
(BTW, we will put in a compass locator service for gnome merchant ships like you see with aetherbubbles.)

You should do that with player ships too, it'd be nice.

Estarra, do you think it would be possible to get random dust spawns? Nothing major, but I think it would be nice if there was some dust floating around that could be gathered by determined solo pilot.
Sorta like Spice in Dune.. where there are patches of it, but you have to risk being eaten by worms.. or in this case, dragons and tentacles.
Maybe the more monsters in a sector, the greater the random dust spawn as the danger increases?
