Just thought I'd point that out.

Bleh, they should fix that.
Also, it'd be very nice if unique honors (founding a guild, first planeswalker, etc) showed without having to do HONOURS FULL.

I think first planeswalker is in an honors, can't remember which one.
Richter2006-10-16 22:18:24
That'd be Kaervas.
And I think that all unique honors should show in the short version as well.

I don't agree. I want basic info when I check honours. If I want their life story I'll either check their full honours or I'll ask. Frankly, I don't care if they were the first person to juggle seven broadswords on Taurus while harvesting.
Joli2006-10-16 23:10:22
I'm rather proud of my new honours line and I'd like people to see it..
Sylphas2006-10-16 23:49:08
Unique honours are rare enough to not be a problem. It's the damn quest honors that eat 9 or 10 lines.
And when I want basic info, I don't care in the least which clans you are in, I really don't. That'd save plenty of space. So would combining the enemy lines ("He is an enemy of your order, commune, and guild" works fine and should be trivial to code).

I'd love for clans to show up in HONOURS FULL.
Although I would like a new line that says 'He was judged worthy by the Portal of Fates at age 19.' Or whatever.
Shiri2006-10-17 02:18:44
They should totally have switched Harbingers and Cacophony. The names are so Magnagoran and Gloom, respectively.

I wonder if I made a plot post and tried that if I'd get a honours... would have to switch to herbs though..

Why's that? Plus it's a little too late to switch now, unless they did a Divine intervention event where they swapped names. Now that would totally screw with their carefully thought out guild titles and such.

Unique honors are just that, an honor. Lumping them in with quest honors demeans them to the point of worthlessness. What's the point of giving them if no one can see them? Personally, I think HONOURS FULL should show clans, HONOURS should not. Quest honors should be completely removed, and unique honors should always show.

Noooooooooo!
I'm SUPER proud of my two honors quests honors lines cause for me they were really hard to get. I like the fact that anyone can see them, even if they have to type HONORS FULL to do so.

When people check honors they’re looking for alignments, associations, they want it to be quick, they don’t care about quests at all.
Do I look at quests myself? Yes, I check honors full from time to time as I’m curious, but most of the time I just want a list of what guild/national positions the person has and what affiliated clans they are in.
I'm just fine with it as-is.
Sylphas2006-10-19 19:02:14
Anyone can do an honours quest, or many honours quests. If you want, you can probably get someone to walk you through it. Unique honors are just that, unique. It's not interesting to me that you helped the tae'dae in Estelbar; everyone and their dog has done that. I could whip up the code to bot the damn thing in about 5 minutes.
As for clans, there have been maybe two times since beta that I've cared what clans someone is in. If I know what guild you're in, I can probably guess about half your clans. You're fine hiding someone's unique accomplishments, but want a long list of every clan they're forced to be a part of?

I'm happy that you are good at doing quests. That they're so easy for you. Some people may not care about cheating their way through the quests by being walked through, but I'd personally never consider it. I'm glad you're good at coding. I often, OFTEN wish I was. Not to use it to speed my way through quests though.
I understand what you're saying about unique honors. That's fine. I just resent you implying that my solving, what was to me, a very difficult puzzle, is a crappy accomplishment. I happen to be proud of it.
Sylphas2006-10-19 19:15:54
I'm not, though. You're far better at quests than I am. I've never actually been run through a quest, and have never actually coded a system for any. I suck at solving quests. I've totally failed to even begin most of the village quests. But they're not unique. I don't see the point of giving honours line if they're going to be just one in a list of ten, and that people may never see. And it irks me that clans are shown, when half of them are chosen for people.
