In the riding teaching session, the tutor mentions how the mount is 'an extension of the rider'.
I know Riding is a rather..isolated skill, rarely used, et cetera. But as someone who actually uses it to some degree, a skill like this would be awesome, especially for those who cannot vault.
AB RIDING FLUIDITY
Automatically attempts to resist attempts to knock you prone from your mount.
-What I'm mainly looking for is a resistance against denizens doing it. So..annoying...
Edit: -It'd be nice if the chance of success went up with Riding skill, too!

Good name for the skill we all want!

I don't think I wanna know if that was serious or not.
But I guess that probably isn't the greatest name, given the purpose. I was thinkin' 'Sturdiness', but I think there's allready one in Athletics.

Fluidity sounds like something that lets you float your mount across the river (I know it's called fording...) or maybe avoid the waves that knock you around on the seas. We really do need an artifact like Brooch of the Tempest that works for the seas and Earth, even if I have to attach it to a mount.

I was actually serious.

It should not give you a resistance to being proned. It should just keep you mounted even though being proned, and then you simply STAND as normal, and aren't ever actually dismounted.

As suggested by the above reply, it's been put up on the envoys board and there were enough votes against it to make it go away.

Many skills depend on getting a target prone. I don't think riding could give resistance to those setup afflictions without requiring rebalancing in quite a few other skillsets.

It would be nice to be automatically set into your mount when you stand though, unless a skill designed specifically to dismount you happens.

Just have vaulting not take balance. I mean doesn't use balance, but you need balance to do it.

I say ye make it so that on a mount, you don't go prone, but instead are considered prone on your mount... like, disheveled on their backs, clinging on for dear life, and then something like remount (with the exact same mechanics and requirements as prone) will take this away... So basically it allows for you to stay on your mount while fighting.. Of course there has to be a way to get people off their mounts.. like through paralysis or somethin?
