Back to Common Grounds.

Argilent informed me that Havens have been changed so that there are no longer any exits to astral - only exits near each of the communities on prime. Now even less reason to want to be a Demigod!
Ekard2006-10-24 11:07:04
Wow.
Ok im going to stop bashing now.
Why admins keep making demigods useless?

Why such change?? closedeyes.gif

Why would you expect to get a 2,000 credit artifact for free? Yes, free. You're willing to spend 80,000 hours bashing, but that shouldn't equate to earning a free 2,000 credit artifact. Demigods have plenty going for them, so don't say they're useless. rolleyes.gif

There was only 4 exits to Astral as far as i know.
Cubix have 12 exits to astral, one on each sphere.
And i have no idea what other exits from Hevens are.

And phoenix is most hindering skill in the game. Ask Ialie or Kaervas.

Just out of curiosity, what's so hindering about it? What does it do?
Riv2006-10-24 14:05:47
I wonder how many credits all the gold you make bashing to 100, is equal to?
Kharvik2006-10-24 14:17:13
There used to be 2 exits to astral. A cubix has 12 exits to astral, and to cosmic planes, and to elemental planes, and to exits all over the basin. That's incomparable. The change is utter shit and makes Demigod even more worthless now than it was before. All we have now is phoenix (which is the biggest tax of being a demigod) and a hammered down-once a day-short lasting divine fire.

And Noola, Phoenix is no good because if you say.. lose your link on astral, it's equivalent to praying. There's no conglute. No matter where you die, you lose about as much xp as if you had prayed.

Don't you also end up at level 99(0%) if you don't have enough essence for phoenix or something?

Ok... that's the downside. What's it supposed to do though? From the name, I'm guessing some kind of come back to life deal?
Kharvik2006-10-24 14:24:14
When you die you're instantly transported to the havens, alive again. It's a pretty cool idea, just I think the cost of it is too high to make it worth it.

And to Saran, yeah that's what happens. Ialie or Kaervas could tell you about what that feels like.
Sylphas2006-10-24 14:25:27
Seems like Phoenix would be there to discourage PK with a Demigod, without actually mechanically hindering it. Although nerfing other areas of them does the same thing.
Unknown2006-10-24 15:04:36
Oh damn, those Astral exits were really neat. And no I don't see how it compares to a 2k credit artifact in the least. Possibly to astroglide.. but not a cubix.

Also, I don't quite see why that change was made. Why things like t-clap were removed or fire changed I understand but those astral exits had nothing to do with PK.

Though, does that mean there're other neat changes for Demigods coming up? Like some real rp skills or special Avatar-depending-on-deity abilities? Or, if not could those that are already demigods get the option to be set back to level 99(50%) or so? I've always wanted Aesyra to be active but somehow with my own personal essence loss at each death + that of Hajamin it never quite worked out. I was sick of the prospect of having to bash for hours on end just because I died once. unsure.gif

PS: The gold you gain from bashing to 100 (before the no-astral-drop changes were made) does not make your omnitrans. I tried, I can tell.

Okay, so my apologies for comparing your 2, 4, whatever exits to a 2k credit artifact. Still, I think there are enough buffs for becoming a titan/demigod. I've tried killing them, I know. I'll agree that it sucks about the experience loss from Phoenix, though. You shouldn't lose any experience if you have enough essence to Phoenix, eh?
Forren2006-10-24 17:57:08
Demigods need to be seriously looked at. Right now, it is more advantageous to stay as a Titan. You have conglutinate, minimal XP loss, and only a -1 stat disadvantage compared to Demigods.

No, see, you lose 500k essence, that's what Kharvik meant with experience. 500k essence is a LOT to bash up again, it's like 100 to 200 astral creatures, or even more.
Unknown2006-10-24 18:20:02
I don't think 100 astral creatures for an instant resurrection sounds too extreme. 200 is extreme, sure. 500k essence sounds like a lot, but I don't know how much various creatures are worth, so it's hard to say how unreasonable it really is.

Hrm, my usual round of 30 (which is little, but I hate insanity) gives like 60k, sometimes 80k.
So, if calculated, we look at 250 to 190 creatures.

So why are you commenting on this topic like you know what is best for it.
You know little about anything on what it means to be a demigod.
Unknown2006-10-24 18:46:03
You're correct that I know not what it means to be a demigod. I know what it means to try and fight a demigod. They're meant to be fun, but they should not be unbalancing to the game.

A beastly-high level demigod should be more powerful than other players.
