Get titan, get demigod, and THEN tell us if you feel the same way.

Should be a way to lose Demigod though.
I agree.

People gain Dragon and such in other realms, and also lose it when they are killed enough times. Gaining Demigod should not then mean that a person is immune to level loss forever more.

Just remember that not all orgs/guilds have equal access to transmigrate/darkrebirth/lich.
QUOTE(Shorlen @ Oct 26 2006, 07:52 AM) 346833
Other orgs have other exp loss reducing skills to componsate for their lack of a death-avoidance skill. Also, immolate, vitae, and conglutinate exist for everyone who does not have a res skill or death avoidance skill. Demigods shouldn't be treated differently with some skills than with others. Either all of these effect essence loss, or none do. That's the only way it's fair.
What are you talking about here? Are you saying since they used to have this skill at titan they should lose it at demigod? Phoenix has a tendency to fire before certain skills, or it costs the skill + the 500k... it just seems like you are saying that once you reach demigod, you should lose your skills

Why not just make Phoenix a voluntary reincarnation command? If you want to spend essence (preferably less than 500k) to resurrect yourself, you should have the option. If something else has resurrected you already, you don't need Phoenix. It should be a blessing (optional, and there when you need it) and not a curse (overrides other abilities to resurrect you with less of a loss).

Bwah? What are you talking about? I said that making lich, transmigrate, and darkrebith cost a demi 0 essence, and everything else cost 500,000 essence was unfair, and that if those three skills cost a demi 0 essence, then resurrect, resurgem, vitae, conglutinate, sacrifice, immolate, and soul-rezz should all cost the demi proportionately less essence than the 500,000, similar to how normal ressing reduces experience loss.
What did I say about losing skills?

That's what I said (or at least meant) too.

If my memory is correct, lich/transmigrate do not cause experience loss.
Demigods should not be immune from essence loss. There -should- be a way for them to lose it, just like there is now.
Phoenix could be modified to the following:
No loss from denizen deaths, similar for how it works for order-member death and essence loss.
200,000 essence loss for irregular death/resurrection (conglutinate, transmigrate, etc).
350,000 essence loss for phoenix firing and resurrecting the demigod who lacks the ability to be resurrected another way (through conglutinate, etc, though Sacraments would not work to resurrect them.)
This would mean phoenix would need to fire after other skills.

Actually, it would mean that Pheonix would have to be a skill you USED while a soul.
Unknown2006-10-27 15:19:46
How about just have Phoenix replace praying for salvation for demigods? When you run out of mana, you have to Phoenix or start losing more essence, but you can Phoenix whenever you want.
Unknown2006-10-27 15:20:15
200-350k is still a lot more than titans would lose in general. If demigods had interesting skills that made up for it I wouldn't mind though (And I mean small skills that are mostly there for immersion and the rp, and not overpowering pk stuff).
Also, phoenix being voluntary would go a long way actually. I remember it being a pain each time I wanted to reincarnate: buy dagger - sacrafice me - phoenix - go portal - tell hajamin got time to make me a soul for reincarnation? - wait - wait - reincarnate into. Seriously, demigods can't even reincarnate without divine help, if that wasn't so annoying it would be almost comical.

Your ideas? And here I thought I was the first one to suggest that Phoenix be a voluntary thing...
