I was thinking that Prime, Etherial, 2 (4) Elemental, 2 (4) Cosmic, and Astral just aren't enough planes to explore. And after the whole "oopsie" with Cosmic Hope, I'd say no one wants to keep going up. My idea is to have a plane below Prime. My working name is Limbo, though someone brought to my attention that Limbo is the name of the place you go when you use a cubix. As far as storyline goes, I'd say it is the place Ackleberry, Gaudi and Halifax are currently trapped, and after those three are released (giving plenty of coding time to the hard working Lusty staff), we can find a way to get in there safely without the whole "stuck in time" issue. As far as how it looks, I had 2 ideas. Version one is that it appears to visitors as an underlayer of reality with denizens being simple looking like sketchy stick/block figures sort of like a bad flash animation that jerks and shakes all around. Version two would be a netherworld type plane, where various low-end spirits (wraiths, ghosts, etc) abound. Not so much an evil place like Nil but a neutral but gloomy place. Any feedback, comments, criticizm, etc would be appreciated before I make an official submission via the Ideas command in-game.

If this is meant to be implemented after Hallifax, Gaudiguch and Ackleberry come out why not submit the idea in five years when it has a better chance of being used?
Unknown2006-10-30 02:27:53
Because if I submit it now, in five years they will finally get to it.
And besides, I can just necro this thread when the time is right.

Heh, not the worst strategy by any means I suppose.

There's room for expansion all over horizontally, we don't need any more vertical (in a sense), do we?
Xavius2006-10-30 04:29:43
The spirit plane is below.
Kharaen2006-10-30 04:49:52
There's reference to a Fire Plane in Mount Zaoka. Maybe make a quest to open it up or something, giving Gaudiguch fanatalists something more to gawk at.
Gandal2006-10-30 04:50:29
Ah, then, storyline for Ackleberry-Hallifax-Gaudiguch. It was all a conspiracy by the Tosha monks! By gathering those corpses, they were secretly planning the cities' downfall, and planned the entire war AND Cosmic Hope!! Soon, the monks shall rule the world!!!

Umm, yeah, the Fire plane was the Pyromancers' Elemental plane, but it was lost, along with both cities, the air plane, the vortex and the continuum.
Shaeden2006-10-30 22:49:50
Unlocking the fire plane would be ludicriously cool. Crazy warzone
The formula being
Plus, it'd be an area that everyone can avoid if they want, but still visit to get some brawling in. Load it with hostile elemental critters and we are good!

Except if you unlocked the Fire plane, you would unlock the Air plane, and if you unlocked either of those planes you would have to unlock the respective city, which in turn would unlock the other city, thus unlocking both Continum and Vortex.
I think if we had new planes we should have sub-elemental planes or new additions to them.

I was hoping the Zoaka quest would end up in the fire plane opening. Oh well.

Say... like areas in which the elemental planes cross over each other... a plane of mist between water and air, a plane of mud between water and earth, a plane of lava between earth and fire.. all the elements can combine in some respect... plane of steam between fire and water... stick in some bashing crits, some kind of RP involving Elemental Rivalry that the Elemental Guilds can get in on. Could be fun.
Nico2006-10-31 20:16:20
Oooh, much love to Aiakon's idea. However, with me being inactive and mainly just trolling these forums while I'm at work....eh, still would be cool
Shirath2006-11-06 21:57:28
What Nico said, except that I'm not inactive.
Again though, in order for there to be inter-elemental-plane-plane-thingies, there has to be something for those planes to be between. Steam couldn't exist between Fire and Water 'cause Fire doesn't exist yet.
The only possible addition would be mud (Water + Earth, duh), which would result in a whole new plane...
I'm with Richter on this one though; Expand the existing planes, don't just go make even more. Astral is the limit! Beyond it, there be dragons

Not necessarily. It could very feasibly just be a corridor with critters in.
Shirath2006-11-06 22:09:38
Aye, but how would one explain the sudden addition of such a 'corridor with critters in it'? The gods randomly blasting holes in aetherspace with which they incidentally break away sealed entrances/exits sounds logical to me, though I reckon they won't just go do that like that...
Ideas on how to logically implement such corridors, anyone?

Maybe Kethuru could break out again, releasing the cities and their planes, and on his way through, he blows holes in the elemental 'space, and then the gods try to heal them, but they botch it up so the planes kind of get shakily welded togather there, and they aren't always there, but sometimes they open up and you can go through them and bash stuff, but if they close on you... splutch.
Gandal2006-11-07 18:24:36
Aether. All explanations lead to aether.

Fire does exist. We just can't reach it.
