I very much like this idea, and I've played a game a little where it worked. If anyone's ever played Shadows of Isildur, when you log in, you log in not as the character but just as your account. There's a screen that comes up that lets you check and send messages, and you're sending them OOCly, you're not logged into game yet. Then you can also choose to login as your character. Can't send messages in game.
I love the idea of being able to design stationery, too. *swoon* Signet rings would be lovely. Even better if there were an heraldry system, though, with which to emblazon them (or is there? I didn't think so, but I'm very new to game).

I play SoI occasionally, yeah. Quite hard to get into. And Verithrax started a Heraldry thread in Creative Arts, although an implemented system would be nice...
Back on topic, I still want this.
