Who to worship?

I would like Bhiele to come to follow a Divine, but I don't know who fits and is acceptable for her role. Reading the help files, I am inclined to lean towards Fain but from what little I know, a faeling Harbinger wouldn't exactly be his choice of supplicant.

I know nothing of Shikari, and since Bhiele arrived after Viravain's departure...I am somewhat lost.

Where can I get more information on the Gods other than their help files and asking random people if they belong to their order? I don't want to "advertise" I am looking for information, so I'm not sure how to go about it. Any suggestions?

Glomdoring has no divine right now, so you'll have to look elsewhere.

The only active gods that you could really get away with following in Glomdoring would be Lyreth and maybe Morgfyre.

The best way to get into an order is to talk to someone you know in that order; failing that, try to talk to the god directly by going to their fulcrux and speaking to see whether they're there.

Talk with someone IC in Glomdoring about this. You are welcome to approach Shayle!

Edit: Morgfyre is a no, which is why IC is really the best place for her to bring this up. The OOC knowledge of things like this is bound to be way way off.

I think Athana is accepting worshippers, msg her.

I thought about that, but then decided against it. (asking people in general, not Shayle in particular) I think religion is a private thing, and would be offended if a random person came to me asking me about mine. Once Bhiele gets to know more people, it will be easier for her to ask.

I'm not looking to have her in an order, just to have a basic fundamental to worship. One day maybe in an order, not yet though.

I'm not sure if it's appropriate for a Glomdoran to worship Fain. He's all about the Taint, and Glomdoring doesn't accept the Taint, they're all about the Wyrd, so that might be a conflict of interest.

Religion in Glomdoring is not a private thing...at ALL. smile.gif

I figured that he wasn't acceptable, he just sounds the best to me so far from his help file.

It really annoys me how you can't keep Order affiliation secret at all and how, even though Morgfyre isn't associated with the Taint or very interested in mortal affairs, he's still not allowed to have worshippers outside Magnagora because he's 'Tainted' or 'Magnagoran', even when Glommies have no access to any divine order.

This game's orgs are way too isolationistic.

Especially when Viravain was still around...

Worship Shikari, he has a shrine and a semi-active order. Even if the god isn't active.

Neither of those reasons are why its bad for a Glom to follow Morgfyre.

I just wish statues didn't make any sort of semi-secret org impossible. They really limit the RP possibilities in Lusternia, and make it a whole lot more like a silly wargame.

I think Morgfyre has a really appropriate outlook for a Glomdoring character, and he sounds like a pretty darn cool god from all descriptions.

Maybe look into him?

Edit: Lyreth -maybe- if you have a pacificist/troubadour bent to your character. Charune is another that you could probably find parallels between his teachings and your beliefs... and he's an awesome god too.

Give up the isolationism, you have to give up the conflict that the game is based on. You can't have a free, open, universal society and still have the conflict that makes Lusternia great.

That said, I think some organizations in particular (i.e. the Serenwilde) tends to be too isolated.

I agree on that part.

But when I looked into Morgfyre, I found waaay to many things which made it impossible for me to see Morgfyre being acceptable in Glomdoring. Trust me, I tried, many aspects seemed promising.
Gandal2006-11-02 02:07:50
Seren, Glom, and Celest have gods that were betrayed by Morgfyre, Fain, and Raezon. Even Viravain was, since she was an Elder God. Shikari too.
Shiri2006-11-02 02:24:20
The reason Morgfyre's order is banned to Seren is nothing like the fact that he's Tainted or associated with Magnagora, actually. All the Tainted/gods from tainted orgs are banned, none of them -because- they're tainted. We were even thinking of making Shikari's order legal for a while except then he started setting fire to our forest because Elryn was using dreamweaving, etc. So that didn't work out.

No, not really. Europe in the 1600's was very close (Like the Basin is - Travel is very, very easy) and cultural interchange was constant. Even so, the powers of the time were constantly jockeying for position.

In fact, I find it that war, conflict, and unstable relations of power are much more prevalent when you have several close societies than when you have a handful of isolated powers.

Which (active) gods -can- Glom follow?
Ildaudid2006-11-02 03:04:09
Don't be fooled, Morgfyre has worshippers everywhere... They just don't show themselves because they will be persecuted. evil.gif

Fain isn't real wise if you are fae, merian or elfen. He tends to dislike those. Maybe he will let a fae or two slide though
