Don't be fooled, Morgfyre has worshippers everywhere... They just don't show themselves because they will be persecuted. evil.gif

Fain isn't real wise if you are fae, merian or elfen. He tends to dislike those. Maybe he will let a fae or two slide though

I know about our Morgfyrean! (ooc anyway)

And, as expected, OOC help has been not as helpful as it should be because it's a lot of IC information! This is a question so much better handled IC, unless Bhiele is looking for help with how to approach a god she has in mind. Even still, better to ask IC.

We were even thinking of making Shikari's order legal for a while except then he started setting fire to our forest because Elryn was using dreamweaving, etc. So that didn't work out.

Oops. Sorry! blush.gif

Charune doesn't have any major problems with Glomdoring, as far as I know. I don't see why not.

Yeah, but Glomdoring has deer too. dunno.gif

Besides, Viravain made like birds and squirrels, didn't she? That didn't mean we had to love her for it.

Oh, and don't forget it used to be all fae that Glomdoring didn't like, it was only recently they changed it to just Hart and Moon. Give it another few years and you never know what might happen. wink.gif

So... yeah, I still think Charune would be pretty good for a moderate Glom to follow. Unless there are any contradictory teachings.
Verithrax2006-11-02 05:06:43
Contradictory opinions aren't really an issue if you're smart enough to deal with them.

Only the Sith deal with absolutes.
Unknown2006-11-02 06:58:03
Some of Charune's own ideals can be seen as contradictory anyway. Just think around them and you're fine.

EDIT: Bleh, decided to delete my nice, all explaining post. Bhiele, if you offer a bit to Fain, you can be sure either me or Dvyrus will chat you up soon, then you can talk a bit. (I suggest me, just because I am the cuter one).
Lastly, Fain is not about Taint. -.- He just uses it. tongue.gif

QUOTE(Cairam @ Nov 2 2006, 01:32 AM) 349469

I'm not sure if it's appropriate for a Glomdoran to worship Fain. He's all about the Taint, and Glomdoring doesn't accept the Taint, they're all about the Wyrd, so that might be a conflict of interest.

QUOTE(Shiri @ Nov 2 2006, 02:24 AM) 349505

All the Tainted/gods from tainted orgs are banned, none of them -because- they're tainted. We were even thinking of making Shikari's order legal for a while except then he started setting fire to our forest because Elryn was using dreamweaving, etc. So that didn't work out.

Given that the Tainting happened before the Elder Gods returned, and there have been no taintings since, how can any of the Elder Gods be described as tainted.

Morgfyre and Fain and Raezon may have decided to make their homes in a tainted area, but that is because they realise the inherent qualities in it, and lack the blinding prejudices of other, more bigoted deities. They are in no way 'tainted', but the majority of their followers are - nor would it be any more than a reductive inaccuracy to say that any of them are concerned with spreading the taint, except where in so doing they may profit by it.

To clear up confusion: No, Gloms cannot follow Charune or Fain.

Actually, strike that, Gloms can follow whomever they want, provided said Glom is willing to deal with any consequences of being caught, just like anyone from anywhere can follow any god they feel like (a Magnagoran following Terentia? Sure! Why not! A Celestian following Fain? Go for it!), but will likely not like the results of being caught, should that divine be contrary to the ideals of his or her homeland.

But I don't really think that is what Bhiele was asking, and I think encouraging her OOC to follow Charune or Fain is kind of mean because it will get her character into IC trouble she doesn't seem to be looking for, hence why I REALLY THINK she should ASK IC.
Unknown2006-11-02 13:32:27
Can Glomdoring characters follow Morgfyre? If not, why not?
Aiakon2006-11-02 13:35:52
I don't see that Fain's principles are particularly anti-Glom's. I can understand that it would be irritating to have highly placed members of Glom's government as Fain-ites, because Glom would become a sort of Magnagoran puppet state, but in small doses this isn't relevant - after all, there have been plenty of Shikarians in relatively senior positions in Mag. The Glomdoring problem with Fain stems, as far as I have ever been aware, from Viravain's great dislike of Him. I'm sure Shayle will disagree, but it seems to me that there is no good IC reason why with Viravain gone, Glomdoring members shouldn't follow Fain... or Morgfyre for that matter... or Raezon, if he was around... They're not typical foresty choices, because they aren't foresty gods... but I don't see any issues with them beyond that.

P.S What's wrong with following Charune? I thought he was all pro forest and anti city, and if the forest was wyrden.. well.. at least it's not a city...?

Hi!

This is an IC issue! All reasoning for arguements for and against certain gods are going to be IC! If you would like to discuss these things, please contact Shayle...that's right! IC!.
